Always 70 and Sunny

Then we had fun…. 12 12 year olds showed up for play time at Heartbreak.  We skipped most of the workout stuff and went straight in for the kill….if “the kill” means playing a game.  6 on 6 meant lots of running and nowhere to hide.  Workout was gotten. Geez, this morning was a blast, even though I once again was on the losing end until the final score.  Everybody that posted is ready for another round of ULTIMATE, we just have to figure out when. I am not going to give a breakdown of the game, because it won’t…

A cool dozen runners, including one FNG, took off for a cruise down Westham Parkway.  4, 5, and 6 mile options were invoked and all returned safely. Big Tennessee took us out. NMS The rolling hills of Westham Parkway never disappoint, nor does the Westham Station extension.  Today’s backblast title comes from a story Saab shared pre-run.  Imagine Homer Simpson running out of the front door in his underwear to dispatch with a screech owl that disrupts his sleep invoking memories of Poe’s “The Raven”. Welcome Brita!  Hopefully we will see you out soon.  It’s always great to have a…

Thanks to Captain Insane-O, I can check DRQ off my bucket list! While visiting family in Richmond,VA, I thought it would be fun to visit another AO. And once I shared the idea with CI, he quickly does what he does on Tweeter and viola! I was on the calendar to Q at #TheGridiron! The fun part was to share some of our tricks we’ve learned or made up over the past year. The big challenge was showing up to a location that I’ve never been. Luckily, CI got me in contact with Atilla, an RVA HIM that answered a…

A magnificent 7 opted for some running as a way to enjoy this unseasonably cooler weather. We headed down to Robious Park where we picked up the trail for the next 30 minutes and then headed back up to the VSF. Sugar Sock took us out. NMS With this crew there is always a fair amount of mumble chatter.  We stayed together as a group until a few made some diversions along the way.  Ample discussion of upcoming brewing opportunities as well as progress on the summer tour. The first few minutes on the trails reminded YHC of Ragnar.  Trails…

What a beautiful morning for a run. Four gloom warriors departed at or around 7:00 AM. We saw Wedding Singer on the trail and rumor had it that Saab was out there too. We four stuck mostly together and ran south to north across and on top of Belle Isle. Lab Rat took a swim.  There was a fairly common Swallow sighting on top of Belle. YHC is almost back up to speed but not quite. The last mile was a doozie. Puppy Pile is coming Stop by the Raise tent at the ? festival next weekend Summer Tour is going…

Last nights rains moved out and took all the humidity with, leaving this morning’s sunrise to a glorious 70 and sunny…..best feeling day in a long while!  What better way to greet the day than with an hour of play time outside!  24 warriors did just that. I promised TYA that if he came this morning, we would run a mile to start it off.  This caused some confusion for the under-caffeinated pax, as they put it in autopilot and headed for the carillon.  Shakedown about had a head on collision, but quickly straightened it out and we made our…
