Fourteen Tuesday regulars woke up to zero excuses, rolled out of bed, and made it to the Commons in time for impeccable instructions and a double serving of horse’s pens. After a more methodical instruction set, a 15 second recap was offered before launch mode was triggered. There were a few, “you know where you are going?” comments leaving the parking lot with subsequent “I got this” comments. Marv ran off course early with his noble steed at his side, but they eventually found the main part of the route. Route was prescribed as follows: The Route East side of…

17 of RVA’s finest launched into the cool morning promptly at 530. Covering distances and paces as desired by all. Little raccoons climbing trees by the lake. Rolling hills and pre-fall leaves hang from trees. OBT took us out.

14 of Richmond’s finest gamblers and runners gathered at U of R for a surprise hill workout. Pucker asked if he missed the route being posted, to which YHC replied, “I’ve got the Q, and the route will be revealed.” Someone tall from the peanut gallery quipped that the route either has chalk or few turns since Faceplant is Q-ing. Both were spot on. Instructions: Pair up with someone of equal or similar running ability, preferably someone with a light. Grab a die from the jar, and follow YHC to the starting line. The PAX moseyed to the bottom of Ridgeway Road…

Batcave to cross the river, head upstream, and come back the way you came. YHC took us out.

Ump-teen runners/walkers/ruckers gathered in our favorite Tuesday morning spot for today’s route. To alleviate any anxiety amongst the PAX, YHC stated our intended route at 525. There was a shit-eating grin on Saab’s face for some reason. I can never tell if he is happy or sad when intervals aren’t called. Regardless, we launched at 530 with a reminder of today’s route. Mount Henrico. Some didn’t hear the first time it was called and thus were relieved that we weren’t doing intervals. Welcome Sippy Cup back and then off we went. The Route It’s been well documented throughout the years…

11 or so ran/walked/skipped through various distances ranging from 4 to 6 miles…. NMS: Pickleball is still a thing. Apparently it is possible to have never picked up a pickle-paddle and still participate in the end of season tournament. Run – don’t walk – to Batteau for a Richmond-esque version of olympic-level competition. Swirly gets an anal-probe and gives the cologuard box spokesperson a deserved day off…. Saab abides

14 runners took about a dozen different routes around my beloved UR campus. Route started up Richmond Way past Wood Hall where Gomer and I lived in 89/90. Then we ran by the football Stadium that did not exist back then and wrapped around the Stadium & went past the Robins Center where we saw us beat Kenny Anderson and Georgia Tech back in Dec 1990. A downed power line/tree work on College Road put some of us on the trail to the Greek Theatre while others ignored safety instructions from the police and squeezed by. I think I saw…

9 runners (plus a wayward cyclist checking on BRR training) showed up for this week’s Spider Run. Conditions were sunny and 70, with plenty of humidity. The Route:Everyone head out to Boatwright passing the baseball field and right towards Three Chopt. Turn Left on Edgehill, right at Bandy field, and then left on Three Chopt to Patterson. Everyone heads east on Patterson.4s turn right on St Christopher’s to Tapoan to Fairway View to Ridgeway and return to the flag.5s turn right on Westview and 6s on Lexington and Albermarle. Both take Grove to the Three Chopt service road. Then, pick…
