Ten noble steeds, including the one armed bandit, gathered in the pre-dawn for this morning’s iteration of Spider Run.  Splinter commandeered the Q from Lockjaw who had it for the past month.  Not surprising, Lockjaw wasn’t Q’ing so he didn’t post.  Route went something like this: Rather straightforward 4 mile loop.  Run across the lake, meander up the hill to Keller and out the College Drive entrance.  Cross College, up Glen Pkwy and take a right on Westham.  Westham all the way to Patterson, right on Patterson, Right on Horsepen.  Cut through fraternity row, back by the baseball field and…

YHC missed an early morning bailout text canceling the other half of the planned participation in the Off The Books run.  YHC showed up early anyway with a new route option in mind.  The new route took me into Salisbury and some old haunting grounds.  Looking forward to showing that one off soon. OTB will be on most weekends leading up to the CSAUP for those SOJ or anyone that wants to get started earlier.  Check with YHC or Honeymoon to verify. Have a great week.

4 River Run regulars purchased tickets for the River Downs Rollercoaster and started the morning by destroying some hills SOJ…after LugNut nicely moved his vehicle to clear space for the concerned bus driver… Route was around the loop by the high school, right on Robious Road (on the walking path), take a left and cross over onto Riverdowns South, 2nd left onto Queens Grant Drive – up the killer hill – right on Royal Crest and down the hill to Gumbo’s house (or into Cross Creek for an extra mile if you are Rosie and you have a rocket strapped…

YHC along with Oyster and Spike visited the Medical Respite this evening and had a bit of fellowship and faith with some of the less fortunate among us in RVA.  There were eight wonderful people there that we blessed and fed a meal of BBQ (beef and pork), coleslaw, baked beans, rolls, dessert and beverages.  Everyone enjoyed themselves and we had great conversations with them.  YHC’s 2.0 asked him if he could go help, but due to age restrictions, he could not.  I’m just glad that my 5 year old son knew that I was going to help feed some…
