Six of the faithful posted in the pre-dawn gloom at GridIron. It was cold. We started the day with a PreGame 3rd F study and discussion about the treatment of Knowledge in the Scripture.  The discussion was deep and meaningful, and there were many interesting interpretations and lessons. We then  entered the Gloom with YHC at Q.  YHC had planned a Murph, and instructions were given to run to the track, do 1.5 laps, run around the school grounds the long way, and convene at the pull-up bars.  HOWEVER, we arrived at the former location of the pull-up bars only to find…

This morning was reminiscent of going to church growing up. You had the faithful never late, the fast walker, the five minute runner and the one who never showed up. Can you remember the excuses for the one who never showed up?   Stayed up to late, went to bed to late, the client wouldn’t go home, it was an unusual Friday night and even tried to blame it on a fellow F3 member… We love you Night Crawler. We even thought about face timing you for the pregame on top of Mount Trashmore.  It just would’t be the same…

The PAX started the morning with some 3rd F.  It was a great start to the morning as we continued our pre-game through 2 Peter 1:3-11 and our discussion of personal spiritual growth/development.  After sharpening our hearts and souls, we embarked upon sculpting the temples in which they reside.  Here is how it went down: COP 30 SSH 25 IW 25 DQ 20 merkins 20 crab cakes 20 hello dollys Arm circles – 10 big/5 small forward & backward Burpee march – 15 burpees down the parking lot followed by 25 flutter kicks, 25 WWII sit-up and 25 APD; repeat…

Around 6:45 AM, Cecil led the assembled PAX in a Pre-Game discussion centered on 2 Peter 1:3-11 and representing the first in a series of nine such conversations taking place in the coming weeks.  Thank you to Cecil for taking the lead on this. The six PAX members assembled for the morning then began the workout portion of the morning which went like so:  20 x SSHs, 15 x Imperial Walkers, 15 x Don Quixotes, 15 x Hillbillies, 15 x Rosalitas, and 15 x Arm Circles – forward and reverse and big and small.  Mosey to the far third of…

Pre-Gaming resumes at GridIron tomorrow at 0640.  Focus will be on spiritual growth based on 2 Peter 1:3-11 3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. 5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6…

Another Saturday where White Deer and Earthworm were MIA, so there was an audible to get a little more cardio work in.  YHC embarked upon the final leg of his triple crown of Q’ing at ole faithful, Gridiron.  YHC was joined by a 6 other local members of the PAX plus one visitor from the great state of NC.  Here is how it went down: COP 30 SSH 20 IW 20 DQ 10 merkins 20 Freddie Mercuries 10 windshield wipers 8 8-count body builders Mosey to the jerkin gym for a series of jerkins – 7,6,5,4,3,2,1 Mosey to the track…

The 3rd Anniversary Convergence was a double-dip extravaganza to celebrate three years of F3RVA.  Thirty-nine (39) of the faithful gathered in the darkness at 0600 at GridIron, and forty-three (43) of the faithful, plus seven (7) FNGs — fifty (50) in all — gathered at 0700. By my number-cruncing, it added up to 60 different people posting at one or both workouts, with 10 posting early and not late, 21 posting late and not early, and the balance double-dipping.  It was a perfect early autumn morning, and the grass, sand, and pavement were bathed in chilly morning dew, which we…

A sweaty seven started the weekend out at Gridiron as Day 1 of Tuckahoe Takeover went out west to Short Pump.  65 degrees and sunny with no football, we had the AO to ourselves and took advantage: COP – SSH, Merkins, Don Qs, Flutterkicks, Helicopters, Invisible Jump Ropes (switch to imaginary half-way through) then mosey to far lane for Curb Crawls.  Up to 7. Run to field in front of school, Inchworm half way across field, then head to front of school for 3 sets of: Donkey Kicks & run circle.  Back to field for few minutes of Mary. Head…

A cooler, late summer morning brought a PAX of 8 for GridIron.  Byproduct arrived first followed by Mr. Holland (new to the GridIron AO), Alpo (recently relocated to Fredericksburg from Kernersville, NC F3), GridIron regulars Attila, White Deer, and Flip Phone, and YHC.  Right, you count 7 names.  More on that later. We planted a ShovelFlag at the edge of the parking lot, exchanged proper pleasantries, and proceeded with this Thang:  Startup COP with SSHs x 25, 20 x Imperial Walkers, Don Quixotes, and Helicopters, and 15 x Arm Circles (forward and reverse, big and small). Most other Saturdays, we’ve…
