We had runners and bikers of all different distances and routes.  All bases were covered. Runners took the following routes with some arriving early for their bonus miles. 4 Milers West on Grove to Granite. Granite to Patterson, east on Patterson Patterson to Willow Lawn Drive to Monument East on Monument to Westmoreland and home to the VSF 5 and 6 Milers East on Grove to Malvern; Malvern across Broad Take a left on Dabney which will turn into Bethlehem Left on Staples Mill at the Wawa Left on Monument 5s come home on Westmoreland, 6s come home on Malvern…

A sweet sixteen arose today for some crisp running weather and hopefully faster speeds.  We did Reverse Carillon routes of the 4, 5, and 6 variety with a little “catch me if you can” at the end down Grove. Marv took us out. NMS: The is YHC’s home stretch to close out the year’s Q of RAMM (for the most part).  Come back with a classic route, the Reverse Carillon, and a classic theme song, Back in Black.  Besides, YHC was wearing all black and dark grey today so the title is appropriate there as well.  Note to self: Get…

Lockjaw’s 11 showed for the crisp fall running weather and left with so much more. East on Grove, left on Lafayette to Monument. East on Monument to desired street for turn 4 miles – Boulevard 5 miles – Strawberry 6 miles – Lombardy Take your street south to Main (or Ellwood) and head west to Thompson. Thompson to Grove and back the to VSF YHC took us out. 14 Studs posted for a morning in the gloom at Mary Mumford.  Weather was 70 and sunny. The Thang 5 milers, right on grove, left on Malvern, left on Patterson, Left on St. Christophers, Left on Three Chopt, Left on Grove.  Six milers same route except left on Roseneath instead of Malvern. 15 middle aged wannabe rock stars fought off the grip of the fartsack to run (or bike) into the darkness at Mary Munford this morning.  Upchuck took the Q for RAMM Gears and YHC was in charge of RAMM.  Here’s what happened, more or less: Everyone mosey west on Grove and take a left on Roslyn, then a right on Stratford Crescent, cross Cary St, and continue south on Ampthill.  Take a right at the bottom of the hill (at the Manoli Loupassi sign) and continue on Paxton back up the hill, cross Cary St. heading north where Paxton turns…

Four steely horsemen saddled up and secured their headlamps for the latest edition of the RAMM (no takers on RAMM Gears).  With temps fluttering just below sunny and 70 (but nonetheless extremely comfortable), here’s how it went down…YHC surveyed the group (4 milers?, 5 milers?, 6 milers?) and found a consensus to run in a pack…reverse Carillon, 5 mile route.  BT and Splinter set forth with long strides while Sippy Cup and YHC maintained a steady 1.5 strides per BT/Splinter stride, and still fell behind (YHC was clearly the anchor).  45 minutes later…all was done. A record 24 said no to tapering and showed up for an end of summer Lockjaw run. Mosey to the TJ track and divide into groups of three with approximate comparable abilities. As a part of a relay team, everyone completes two 600M runs and six 200M runs.  Focus on speed and form. Mosey back to the VSF. NMS BRR talk is in the air.  In one week precisely, the teams will begin the race.  These teams are ready for what’s in store.
