Back in Black

7

A sweet sixteen arose today for some crisp running weather and hopefully faster speeds.  We did Reverse Carillon routes of the 4, 5, and 6 variety with a little “catch me if you can” at the end down Grove.

Marv took us out.

NMS:

The is YHC’s home stretch to close out the year’s Q of RAMM (for the most part).  Come back with a classic route, the Reverse Carillon, and a classic theme song, Back in Black.  Besides, YHC was wearing all black and dark grey today so the title is appropriate there as well.  Note to self: Get a reflective vest or light.  As Labrat said, “You must not like your family running in all black and no light.”  Point taken.

Perfect weather for a run.

Time to Taper,

  1. Awesome route and great company this morning. Also happy to be able to hold off the 6 milers.

I personally cannot wait to see how well Wedding Singer does in his first half marathon coming up in a couple weeks! Dude has put the time in, I am sure he will reap the rewards come race day. Respect!

  2. Finish out the year? I guess I’ll have to create a new tab for next year’s Qs so you can continue your RAMM dominance.

As for a vest. I highly recommend procuring one highly reflective and child’s size. I need more company in the running gear ridicule group. Whatever you do, don’t fall for Swirly’s construction worker reflective vest. Although, they probably come with a hard hat as an extra prop.

  3. Thanks for the advice on the reflective vest and finding something that is neither from the Village People or an organ grinder.

Though a hard hat could come in handy if you needed to breakout in a spontaneous rendition of YMCA.

  4. Thank you for the clarification regarding your vest Splinter. And I had just thought they were making iridescent manziers these days.

  5. You are probably right. Judging from TYA’s fashion forward sense, its just a matter of time when he wears them out on a run….

Maybe the F3RVA Podcast Team could go as the Village People for Halloween. Bleeder as the biker, Saab as the native american, Swirly as the construction worker, and TYA as the cowboy with the chaps. It all makes sense.

Which AOs are having a Halloween inspired beat down next week? I don’t need to ask about Honey Do’s Q of Heartbreak Ridge as it is a foregone conclusion that clowns, chainsaws, and hockey masks will be in play.
