Linwood Holton Elementary

YHC rounded the corner of the school a couple of minutes before the 6 PM start time to find Krü warming up. The NWS had issued an alert concerning afternoon thunderstorms and the sky began to show signs just as the workout began. We warmed up adjacent to the parking lot a lineup of the usual. We moved to the school wall for a couple a Double Check – one guy runs towards the street and back while the other performs an exercise – we started with the People’s Chair. Following the first Double Check, we wrapped in 50 (Ralph…

YHC posted solo for the 4/1/2019 Punisher – was aware of injuries and anticipated being impacted by scholastic Spring Break. Stayed around the outdoor classroom area for a little of this and a little of that, plus some talking and singing to myself. All gathered had fun.

Three intrepid warriors posted for a Monday evening Punisher (now at 6p for those not on the text chain and not reading the Q signup). Several us had to battle construction traffic coming off of the interstate and along Laburnum. Johnsonville (YHC) took the Q, and this is how it went down, more or less. COP warmup with SSH, don quiote, imperial walkers, merkins, LBC. Mosey to the side of the school, somewhat out of the wind and cold-ish-ness. Deck of death with the following attributes: spades — Jack Webb arm raises on knees. Reps = card value (from 1…

Five PAX posted for last week’s Punisher. With a start time 30 minutes earlier (6:00 PM) and the clock change to Daylight Saving Time, we had a decidedly non-gloomy time of it. Warm-a-rama in the Holton school yard with conversational Invisible Jump Ropes, IWs, DQs, Hillbillies, and Russian Soldiers and Arm Circles in cadence. Move to the northeastern edge of that portion of the school grounds for a Jack Webb – start with one Merkin and follow with four fresh air Shoulder Presses and add one Merkin and four Presses for each round until completion of 15 / 60. Pause…

Four of the faithful met after work at Linwood Holton HS on Monday night for some evening F3. The weather was chilly and the sun was setting. Johnsonville took the Q, with a plan in mind. However, Kru suggested that we do a mobile workout in and around the Laburnum Park area. Being cut out of the “benevolent dictator” mold, I consented, and this is what went down, more or less — We mosied across Laburnum, to either end of Wilimington Ave. (a divided 2-lane drive with very little traffic), parts of the (soon to be renamed) Confederate Avenue, and…

Four posted for last night’s Punisher. Offshore apparently rucked (verb) in from VCU(?). Neither Krü nor J’ville arrived in a Prius (neither did Offshore) but K and J had both been watching prices on used ones. Apparently Krü bought one over the weekend. After a fist bump or two in the parking lot we moved into the tall grass near Laburnum Avenue, positioned ourselves such that the spaces between us would form a quadrilateral, and began the following, all OYO and not in cadence, 10 Invisible Jump Ropes (IJRs), 10 IWs, 10 DQs, 10 IJRs, 10 IWs, 10 DQs, 10…

A PAX of three, including two regulars and one recently named, posted for this week’s Punisher. Within seconds of Krü parking his car, we moved from the parking lot to the soggy grass for the startup COP with 25 Invisible Jump Ropes, 15 each of IWs, DQs, Hillbillies, and Russian Soldiers, and Arm Circles (of course). Short mosey to the concrete circle at the front of the school for an alphabet-inspired sequence by completing 26 reps of exercises beginning with each letter of the alphabet. Some exercise options were obvious (Alabama Prom Dates, Burpees, Carolina Dry Docks, and others). We…

Two posted, between rain showers, for the most recent Punisher offering. COP in the mulch bed near the school parking lot with 25 x Invisible Jump Ropes, 15 each of IWs, DQs, and Helicopters, and Arm Circles. Mosey around to a couple of dry spots in the bus loop for a ready-made workout involving a Deck of Death. Suits were Merkins, Squats, Box Cutters, and Single Count Mountain Climbers and reps per card number then 15 for Jack, 20 for Queen, 25 for King, and 30 for Ace. Jokers stayed in the deck and meant 5 Burpees. Resume mosey to…

Four towering Redwoods, and one FNG (Hat Truck) posted at punisher for an evening workout.  The weather was dry and warm for a change.  Johnsonville (YHC) took Q, and this is what went down: Warmup with SSH, Don Quiotes, slow squats, crabcakes, plank sequence, merkins, and arm circles. Mosey to pillars to the right of Linwood Holton ES’s front entrance.  Wall sit of fire while each pax did 5 donkey kicks (twice around),  5 balls to the wall (twice around) and 10 jump squats (twice around). Mosey to front of school for standard ring of fire around twice, and then around a 3rd…

A PAX of 5 posted for tonight’s Punisher.  YHC arrived at Holton just a few minutes before the advertised start time.  Krü, Up Chuck, and Offshore were already on site.  Johnsonville arrived moments later. The Thang:  At 6:30 PM sharp, we moseyed over the curb near the school for the initial COP with 20 x Invisible Jump Ropes, 15 x Don Quixotes, 15 x Imperial Walkers, 15 x Russian Soldiers, 15 x Helicopters, and 15 x Arm Circles (big only, forward then reverse). We strolled 20 paces to the school gym’s wall for 11s alternating Inverted Merkins and Donkey Kicks. …
