Tin Man led his VQ a week ago and the only way we know about it is this backblast. Tin Man has been a regular triple poster of late and the pax is better for it. After 50 of various exercises and a weird 12—3 cadence the pax fell in line and are the better for it. Nice job entering into 50 and COT respect with F3, great having you.

Eight popsicles gathered at the Forge for a snowy beatdown. With temps in the low teens, constant movement was top of mind for YHC and here’s what we did: Mosey to the flag pole for warmarama to include slow squats, side straddle hops, jazzercise (with toe tap), Fudd’s wife, Wilson’s wife, merkins, etc. COP #1 – Lindsay Mosey to the stairs by the football ticket booth for 30 hoedowns then 10 dips, traversing the stairs between each set. Adjust the rep count by 5 each round until you perform 10 hoedowns and 30 dips. COP #2 – Hillside Dora Mosey…

A 12-pack of Bud on ice? No. A perfect bakers dozen of jelly-filled donuts? No. This morning the Forge locked and loaded a magazine of 12 full metal jacket heroes and Rambo blazed the start of MABA Day 2 with the following badassery: The THANG:  ***1 minute prior to start, PAX given the game plan for 100 BURPEE TABATA = 1 minute to complete x10 Burpees, timer going off every 5min during the 45min beatdown for a total of 100 burpees. Classic Rock ON, Let’s GO!!! 0530 Strikes —> 1st set of 10 Burpees WARMERAMA: Mosey loop and circle up…

Holiday gone, time marches slowly on. 5 men, our bodies and our minds locked in a war of attrition with entropy itself. The expectations of a mechanized society, the weaponization of technology. In the gloom, we are winning, but it is trench warfare and we had the soundtrack to prove it. Mosey to the flagpole for warmarama. Mosey back and down the hill for some knoll work: 11s with mirkins, bear crawl the knoll, jumpsquats, lunge down. 100 WW2s. Mosey to the roundabout for a cinco de checko. Timer runs the loop, flutter kicks, mountain climbers, squats, burpees. Rinse and…

9 kind souls and one new playlist gathered around the warm fires of the Forge for an beatdown audible. Tin Man’s 50th VQ will have to take a rain check after too much egg nogg at Rosie’s Christmas Special. Crank up the volume: Warmarama. Mosey to the amphitheater for a triple check: run the loop, WW2s, squats. Then, 11s with box jumps up the big steps, incline mirkins and dips. Mosey over for some wall work Pigskin-style: people’s chair, balls to the wall, and donkey kicks, each 3 times. Mosey to back to the flag for some ab Mary, some…

Lighting the Christmas Tree, drinking egg nog, and gathering with friends around the Mystery Box at The FORGE……….This is what the holidays are all about! 8 of SOJ’s finest posted in the cold for some revelry and exercise. Here is a brief summary for your viewing pleasure: Mosey to the front of the abandoned Middle School for warm-up: Side Straddle Hops, Ukranian Soldiers, Mummy Kicks, Copperhead Squats, Alabama Prom Dates. To the back of the school for the main event: Mystery BoxPAX take turns pulling an exercise out of the box, then grab the medicine ball and run to Forest…

6 Windy warriors came out to see Machismos part deux. As Snuff’s Forgecast predicted: “Machismo pushes the cold air out of town with a high pressure system bringing heat, humidity and high impact. SYITG” with high pressure came lots of wind as the pack quickly mosied to find the cover of the amphitheater. Warmarama in quick succession included SSH, UkS, Merkins, Sholder Taps, Peter Parkers (great combo), LBC, American Hammer, Freddie’s, Rosalitas, DQs, and arm circles forward and reverse. With 2 triples the pax partnered for a triple check. Part one was PLTs with the runner circling the amphitheater. Part…

10 PAX tackled the Forge with grit, from warmups to the Thunderstruck plank challenge. A morning of sweat, strength, and unrelenting energy! Rolling hills to start out, bear crawling up the side of the hills. Warmups: Side straddle hops; Imperial Walkers; Don quixotes; arm circles; lbcs; alabama prom dates COP 1 : Musicrama Thunderstruck: The Q plays “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC. PAX complete one standard merkin for every “thunder!” heard in the song and hold a plank during the rest of the song. “Bring sally up” stay in squat position throughout song- squat up on “bring sally up”, squat down “on…

YHC arrived early for an EC pre-run with a downranger and planted the SOJ Ghost Flag. Apparently no one noticed the black flag at the AO entrance and Chaplain was surprised to have his half marathon taper plans upended. In respect the taper, as Lockjaw would approve, we went easy on the legs but heavier on shoulders. Mosey to the cul-de-sac with a stop to wait for Snuff. Various Warm-up exercises with an RVA special – Jazzercise – thrown in for the out of town guest. Make our way back up the road with a stop at the first 8…

7 outlaws rolled up right at 5:30. YHC VQ. Checking over their shoulder for the law, but saw none. Mosey down the road to secluded cull de sac hideout. Warmara included: SSS, Don Quixote, cherry pickers, arm circles, plank, push ups, LBCs, and Alabama prom dates. COP#1 Indigenous people mosey to ramp, six doing 5 push ups COP#2 Indigenous people working up the ramp w/ jerkins and incline merkins. COP#3 Mosey to arch for triple check: flutter kicks and squats COP#4 With only a few minutes remaining (man that went fast), YHC threw out forty corners. 10 laps around parking…
