5 runners could have used a better weather app and showed up for Sunday trails run.  The most surprising face was Rosie, who would have normally been at Off the Books….however it looks as though Honeymoon heard the pitter patter of the rain drops on the bedroom window and decided the old stink bag was better than getting nature’s shower.  No matter, the more the merrier! Rainy Day route:  Over the bridge and down the hill to the access road.  Head over to Belle Isle, 6 milers do a loop and return the same way we came.  10 miler press…

Three dudes in white long sleeved shirts and one other guy with a brain in his head toed the line at the Pump House this morning for trails: Route: -Regular: Buttermilk to Forest Hill and back.  Roughly 7 miles. -Insane:  Keep running until noon.  2 Full monty loops.  20 miles, give or take. NMS: Saab and Lab Rat had an enjoyable run, once they got clear of TYA, who kept yelling that Lab Rat was talking.  Well yeah….he and Saab were having a pleasant conversation!  The regular run was great this morning, just a stunning morning to be out. TYA…

Four studs posted on a Sunday morning. Across the bridge, Buttermilk to T. Pottersfield to North Bank and back to the parking lot.  7 miles covered by the PAX NMM: Pulled into the parking lot this morning and who did I see.  Sippy Cup.  Yep, this is only the second time that Sippy has posted for a Sunday morning trail run.  The last time was more than two years ago.  Great to have Sippy out there.  Speaking of pulling into the parking lot when I was coming down the hill I spotted Saab’s RR in front of me.  In a…

5 studs and YHC posted on a sticky Sunday morning for a trail run. The Thang: Northside to T. Pottersfield to Buttermilk and back. NMM 2 Pax, Hardywood and Upchuck took the actual route today (I think).  YHC was hurting after the first mile and opted for a straight cross off Belle Isle instead of T. Pottersfield.  The other PAX opted to take a loop up to the war memorial and then back to the route.  Not sure why they visited war memorial, but at least two of the PAX members hated the addition. Swallow got bit by a bee…

3 pax shook off the cobwebs of yesterday’s convergence and overall taxing week to test out this new weather….50 degrees at start time!  Welcome to Fall (finally).  Here is what transpired: Route: Buttermilk to Belle Isle, take the down river trail around to the pedestrian bridge and back on North Bank.  Classic route, with the Garmin variability putting the pax somewhere between 6 3/4 and 6 7/8 miles. NMS: A stunning morning for a trail run had the Pauls confused about what to wear….both had long sleeve shirts on.  Lab Rat got the closest by wearing 1 standard t-shirt, but…

Three pax took to the trails on another beautiful morning. 65 degrees and sunny. We did: Northbank to Belle Isle to Buttermilk. Gomer Pyle added the Potterfield bridge. NMS- Strong pace this morning, did the loop in 75 min give or take, no surprise as all 3 pax are West Enders. YHC had BRR flashbacks of chasing Gomer Pyle as he set the pace, hence the BB title. YHC got to chat with Best Shot as well. Sounds like he is in for the Bel Monte. Unusual to be at trail run with no Lab Rat or TYA as they…

2 runners posted for a Sunday trail run. The Thang: Buttermilk to Belle Isle to North bank and back to parking lot. NMM Exceptional to have Saab back on the trails.  It has been a couple months, at least since Saab has been spotted running on the trails around RVA.  He has been missed.  Conversation was Lab Rat friendly today, but only two pax were there, so Lab Rat did not get to partake. Overall, the trails were pretty quiet today.  More bikers than normal, but a lot less runner.  See you out there soon. TYA Out

7 Studs showed up on a wet Sunday morning. The thang: Over the bridge to the access road near the river, to Belle Isle, lap around Belle isle, to northbank trail and back to the parking lot. NMM Great to have Hootie out with us from Charlotte this AM.  He is a great runner and was awesome to have out there with us this morning.  He is running on  a 6 person BRR team next week, so we will hopefully see him next week. Although Hootie was born in Richmond, he has spent a majority of his life in NC.…

6 brave souls met up this morning to get in one last big run before the BRR.  A nice break in the temps gave us the push to go a little longer than comfortable.  Here is what’s up: Route:  Buttermilk to Forest Hill Loop.  Back to Buttermilk, eastbound along the floodwall to Mayo Bridge.  Cross the river to pipeline, home on the North Bank.  THC split the difference in other mileage trackers with 11.6 miles total. NMS:  A couple of the pax commented to the Q that this was a high-water mark day for them on long runs.  Great job…

Four BRR runners emerged in the gloom for a Sunday trail run. The Thang: Southside to T. Pottersfield bridge to northside and back to the pump house.  A little over 7 miles for the loop. NMM: Weather was sticky but not overwhelming the morning.  Temps in the mid to high 70’s to start and given that the days highs were only in the low 90’s things were tolerable.  Even so, most runners ended the run shirtless (Oh, the humanity).  Shakedown lost his glasses somewhere after the finish of the run.  He was explaining this to us at the second F…
