With two weeks to go until the Roanoke Half, YHC, Boberry, and Draper hit the mean streets of River Downs for some hill climbing action. Now it’s time to taper.

Thanks to a crummy cold gifted by the M and 2.0, YHC has been out of commission for close to a week. It was great to get out this morning and get in some miles. Flatty showed up ready to ruck, but with no other ruckers in sight, he opted to pound some pavement with YHC and Bo. Boberry planned a 10Kish route. With our stretching guru on vacation, two PAX members had to grab the reins at Broga. We completed an 18 minute full body routine that YHC found on YouTube. Had some nice mumble rap in the background, courtesy of our fellow early morning park enthusiasts. It was a great warmup for DTH’s savage brick beatdown.

Having missed my chance to attend Dogpile, I decided to try that rucking that all the kids have been talking about. I grabbed my work backpack, filled it full of stuff, and off to Byrd Park. I threw the backpack on, and rucked it for an hour on the Buttermilk. I can see why people really like rucking, next to running, it really clears the head.
