Spring Break and the cold weather seems to have kept a few of the regular RiverRunners away for the morning. The three that made it discussed YHC’s original plans to do some hill repeats but decided to wait for another day with more PAX to get that done. A flatter yet still repetitive route was chosen, the River loop. Down into the park around the loop and back to the school loop – repeato until 0615. 1 loop is slightly less than 2 miles. Some extra or adjustment here and there to get the time to work out right Great…

7 men enjoyed perfect conditions this morning for some miles. 6 River Run regulars and a Swiper sighting. No Q on the sheet – no problem, but when the decision was left to YHC the call was easy (if unpopular)…River Downs Roller Coaster – to YHC’s house and back with a couple of gut-punch hills in between. Rosie and Swiper cleared the path for the rest of the PAX – someone had to keep Swiper on the route and Rosie dutifully stepped up to the task. YHC, Doozy and Orange Crush took turns pushing and pulling each other — much…

6 River Run regulars posted this morning to run off the green beer and start the week right. No Q, no route, no problem… Consensus was up Twin Team, right on Brigstock, out 23, back in 22…YHC asked for a loop around by the high school first to “build momentum” for Twin Team (i.e., delay the pain)…and off we went. Twin Team never disappoints. In fact, it kicks you in the gut and lets you know the weekend is over real quick. Great running with Orange Crush – strong partner work as we each took turns pulling and being pulled.…

8 runners stood around in the gloom at 0529 wondering which way to go. No one had a specific plan so we decided on old faithful. Tarrington Loop and around the school to finish. Radar was concerned about not having run much recently so he turned back early. Gumbo and Doozy coming off illnesses were steady through the hills. Orange Crush is an SOJ regular with neighbor Bullseye now. Wedding Singer has not done that hill in a while and said he could tell. The real story is Lugnut who has been absolutely crushing it, check Big Data from 2/1/19…

7 SOJ studs didn’t let last night’s downpour keep them from logging some miles this morning. Admittedly, Doozy had better ideas for what to do with his morning but he shook off the doubt and posted anyway (and CRUSHED it). 0527 and YHC called out the Rollercoaster, which brought delight to those who know the route…Slumlord and Orange Crush were in for a treat. Off we went. Hang a left out of the parking lot toward the High School and around to Robious Road. West on the sidewalk to the new traffic light and left onto River Downs South. Second…

9 southern gentlemen emerged into the dry gloom for a Q-less run. Lugut said we should go that way, pointing out of the parking lot, and we all agreed. He proceeded to describe a route that he had been looking at but toward the end of the description added the disclaimer that he didn’t know how long it was. The route described was up Twin Team, down the Powderham access road then down Robious Road to Corner Rock, loop through Roxshire and back to Salisbury, Robious and Tarrington. This being a portion of a route YHC regularly runs there was…

4 RiverRun veterans and 1 FNG hit the cold wet roads of northwestern Chesterfield County for a few miles of early morning fun. No Q on the sheet and no one feeling extra creative this morning so, as Wedding Singer would call it, the OG route it is. Into Tarrington, Ashwell loop up the hill and around the school for about 5 miles. Lugnut hit his 4, and the rest of us including the FNG, Orange Crush, pushed up the hills for 5. Doozy is itching to do the rollercoaster again but was hesitant to mention it this morning. YHC…

6 men unfazed by Cantore’s forecast posted to River Run to log some miles and the weather held off for a perfect morning run. As for the BB Title, in today’s version of that great National Lampoons clip, YHC was the “poor little guy” tied to the bumper of Rosie, Swiper and Doozy, and YHC kept up for about 3.5 miles before I lost grip of the tether and fell back. The route was left out of BWES around by the high school and right onto the sidewalk heading West toward 288. Crossover Robious at the light and jump onto…

A perfect morning for 6 River Run Regulars to show up to BWES and pound the pavement! 0528 route explained…..Up Twin Team to Ellesmere, take a R. L on Drakewood with an elbow turn here, elbow turn there, and L on Gryphon. With another elbow turn and R on Brigstock. 4 milers turn back at Brigstock. 5 milers attempted to keep the pace of Swiper, we tried! Cross Salisbury onto Kings Lynn Rd to DK’s house. And back to BWES. 5 milers enjoyed some extra credit with route and GPS stating 5.4! Thanks to Mr. Roper and Lug for circling…

6 dudes posted for a beautiful morning at RiverRun that went something like this… Thang: OG w/ a Twist: Before taking the Ashwell loop, dip into Tarrington neighborhood for an extra loop. Today’s tour guide: Slumlord. Lots of landscape lighting in Tarrington; total darkness on Twin Team. Back at school in exactly 45 min. COT – Rosie took us out Naked Moleskin: Slumlord showed YHC a few extra loops on Google Maps before we started out. Nervous about giving complex instructions, the Pax was able to tour the first of 2 possible bonus loops because we all stuck together. Slumlord…
