Betty Weaver Elementary

3 RiverRun regulars, only 1 SOP, stepped out of their warm vehicles into the 15 degree gloom of the Bettie Weaver parking lot with no Q with a specific route it mind.  We decided to keep it simple with an out and back, up Twin Team to Brigstock – out 23 minutes turn around and come back.  The return is always faster with Twin Team hitting the PAX at the start. Good to run with Doozy today and hear about the beating Hitchhiker and others put on the PAX Saturday.  Lugnut pushed himself to a little over 4 today, even…

Two strong shuffled into the river run winter wonderland, a stark contrast to YHC abode or Bullseye’s retreat 2 miles east. The mosey goes something like this… Carefully mosey onto James River Rd, Right on Riverton Ridge, Left on Welby, Right on Sherfield, Left on Ashwell around the big loop, right on Edmonton and back to base. Bullseye led the way and continually reminded YHC that running on the white stuff is a lot safer than trying to run anywhere else.  It was nice to find out the Bullseye and YHC have quite a few mutual friends, I guess that…

8 Foot Soldiers arrived to BWES to see what was going on? YHC forgot his time keeper so Gumbo assisted throughout the morning….YHC had a 6 mile route for Rosie but he declined so….4 and 5 mile route explained and 0530 so up Twin Team to Ellesmere. R on Ellesmere to Brigstock. 4 milers take a R on Brigstock and back to Twin Team and down the slope. 5 milers, L on Brigstock to Mount Hill. R on Mount Hill and Mount Hill to Brigstock. L on Brigstock to Twin Team and down the slope! Lead group moseyed around JRHS…

5 RiverRun regulars posted for some miles this morning.  YHC called for the traditional Tarrington route and off we went.  Just before crossing through the BUSH, YHC heard the call of nature and one last visit to YHC’s favorite small deposit facility called for an audible and YHC headed straight down Robious Road crossing the finish line just in time.  The rest of the PAX continued on the route.  LugNut crushed his own route. COT, Number-rama, Name-a-rama and YHC took us out. Announcements: New Year’s Day Convergence 0700 at Heartbreak Ridge.  Questions abound as to whether NoToll or SpiderRun or…

4 SOJ stalwarts went looking for hills and miles on Christmas Eve.  YHC had them in stock at RiverRun. The route was the River Downs Rollercoaster and With Rosie pulling us along, Doozy and I made it to YHC’s abode and back. LugNut continues to get stronger and crushed the big hill. Great run men. Merry Christmas!

Three common folk of River Run attended a cold 36 degree morning. Route – 2 mile loop to river and return up around rear bus loop. Repeat once for 4 miles (ish), twice for 6 miles. Moleskin – great job men. No Q on the sheet, Rosie asked YHC for a recommendation and the River Run was advocated (yes the route where you actually see the river). Some good conversation early on as Rosie held back with Bullseye and YHC to discuss holidays and owl attacks. Finished with 4.5 as we added a trip up to Huguenot and back around…

Rumours of River Run becoming a boot camp for this morning drove YHC to test run the neighborhood drive last night, set the alarm a few minutes early, and brave the river crossing. Through the precarious and ever-present road construction, YHC deftly maneuvered and muscled for rank, finally reaching the unplowed tundra of James River Rd… Only to find the entrance to Bettie Weaver undisturbed. Pure, as they say, as the driven snow. No PAX, no Q. Set back, but unbowed, YHC took to the roads once again, including an extended session behind a plow caravan on Patterson. When the…

4 for the OG route into Tarrington and down Twin Team.  Bullseye and Wedding Singer clocked 4+ while YHC hit the 5+ mile mark.  Lugnut did his own thing in recovery mode and hit the park and back.  Good catching up with everyone. Keep reaching out to bring in new guys, you never know what is going on in someone else’s life that F3 could help fill a gap.  F3 is not the only solution but it is part of it, it’s the fellowship and inspiration of others.  See Flipper’s comment on the Bear Creek BB.  A true inspiration, well…

9 turkey stuffed (and Disney overloaded) warriors of the gloom posted to River Run this morning to get a few miles in (6 to run and 3 to ruck) and to help YHC enter the silent decade.  Being YHC’s 40th birthday, I decided to add a little present along with every mile – 40 merkins.  As a group, the 6 runners headed to the track about a half-mile away. At the track the instructions were to run a mile, do 40 merkins, then repeat as many times as possible.  Most got 3 to 3.5 miles.  Rosie I think got a…

YHC arrived this morning first on site to BWES and boy did YHC need a run. Losing power at 0221….WTF!?!? The only neighborhood in Bon Air!! And 6 PAX members quickly followed. 7 Men overcame the warmth of the fart sack to log a few miles off the 711 corridor. The route: out of BWES, R on Robious, L on Kings Farm Rd which turns into Queens Grant, R on Royal Crest Dr, R on Riverdowns Dr, and back to BWES=4 miles. 5 milers run past BWES to Robious Landing and circle back. 6 milers run to Robious Landing than…
