A dozen by road and two by bike went into the dark and foggy gloom. Zero visibility was not a problem as this group stuck together for a parsec as we did the Kessel Run through Windsor Farms. Then we headed west down Grove and came back on Grove to the VSF. Swirly took us out. It was great to catch up with everyone and their holiday activities. I hope everyone is enjoying time with family and friends. Lockjaw

Eleven runners plus four on rubber didn’t really gather at 530 and everyone did a variety of things. Due to limited numbers at 530, YHC called the negative split route up Commonwealth and east on Monument. Turning around at 23 minutes and getting back in 22. The original intent was to do Fartleks. Sippy showed up right at 530 and YHC was able to convince him that Fartleks were the way to go. So, 15 minute warm up followed by ten 1 minute pickups. 1 minute hot at a faster than 5k pace followed by 30 second recovery. Do this…

13 runners started, so 13 runners must have finished. Start times, routes, and paces varied. No bikers were present or accounted for. Best anyone can tell, temps were sunny and 70. The security cameras recorded someone starting at 3:45. Two someones. How do you train for a half-marathon? Run 15 miles. Yeah, do the math. Well done, Lug Nut and Bleeder. Those who started at 05:00 headed west on Grove, turned past St. Chris, then east on Patterson, and looped back somewhere ’round The Arthur Ashe Boulevard before coming back to the ranch. Those starting at 5:30 headed east on…

Cool air welcomed this group of 18. People arrived and left at all different times. The dominant mode of exercise was running, though a couple on bike. Those that started at 5:30 did YHC’s Halloween route. East on Grove, left on Blvd, right on Hanover. 4s turn right on Strawberry, 5s on Vine, and 6s on Laurel with all coming back on Floyd. When Floyd runs into Thompson, take a right and back to the SF on Grove. Upchuck took us out. Keep Marv and his family in our thoughts. Upchuck was full of movie reference this morning. One of…

16 fine Southern gentlemen (ok, maybe a few semi-reformed Northerners in disguise) – and 1 FND (Friendly New Dog) – arrived across many dimensions of time and space, almost all separately, to start their Friday morning the right way. How it went down (for the 6 of us who departed together): 4 milers run East on Grove; 5 milers North on Commonwealth, East on Patterson; 6 milers North on Commonwealth, East on Monument. Everyone turn right on Roseneath. Everyone turn left on Cary. Everyone turn left on Boulevard. Everyone turn left at respective streets they ran out on to head…

14 sets of shoes, 1 set of paws, and 3 sets of wheels pounded the (somewhat less) pot holed City of Richmond pavement on a picture perfect morning around the friendly confines of MMES. For the 260th consecutive Friday, temps were sunny and 70. Routes…all runners, east on Grove. 4 miler, right on Shields, then… 5 milers, right on Vine, then… 6 milers, right on Laurel, then right on Park, then… All runners turn right on Floyd, then right on Nansemond, then left on Grove, and BTTF. Announcements: Beer Mile for Shawn G. Hogan, this evening, Dogwood Dell. Come drink…

About 20 ran the most recent version of Snake River amid one of the driest Septembers on record. This route includes some challenging elevation… Run to Granite, head south toward Cary then cross on Tempsford lane. Road forks. 4’s run each fork (down and back) then return. 4’s and 5’s run each fork twice. 6’s return by crossing Grove to Patterson then return on Westhamption Announcements: Lab Rat’s Raise foundation is holding a pancake breakfast fundraiser on Saturday at Shady Grove UMC: http://www.shadygroveumc.org/templates/System/details.asp?id=56099&PID=904509

Fours to Tapoan Fives to U of R Commons Sixes go-round lake

17-18 Knights Templar cast aside superstition and embraced a run on Friday the 13th. Today was a dry brewery tour making our way into Scott’s Addition and seeing the sights. North on Commonwealth and East on Broad. Turn left on Roseneath. 4s turn around at Veil. 5s and 6s head up to Moore and go past Vassen to Blvd. Turning right on the Blvd, the 5s take it to Grove and home on Grove. 6s, turn right on Leigh, a left on Roseneath, and a left on Broad before turning right on Blvd again enabling them to check out Ardent…

That was definitely the theme of the day. Ten pax was more than I thought would show up on a BRR day that was supposed to be a total rainy mess (it wasnt). Also, Wedding Singer called the route for the 4 milers and it was “more than I thought”. Route called was Reverse Carillon. Sippy was the only sixer, but opted to slum it with the 5 milers. 4 milers did a choose your own adventure, with Hitch having more adventure than he bargained for with some GI issues. Pullout and No Tools honked the horns as they rode…
