On a nice 60 some degree day, I thought now that school is back in session, let’s try a modified version of the Presidential Fitness Test. I think it was met with mixed reviews but that is cool. COP: DQ, DMH, Merkins, FMs and ACs. Mosey to track. First part of the Fitness test – 1 mile run. Results ranged from 7:15 to 8:40, not bad. Mosey to near typical field which had work done. 1 minute all of the sit ups you can do. Johnsonville knocked it out of the park with 65 sit ups! Mosey to playground and…

On a bright and sunny morning 6 Pax showed up. We missed a lot of regulars who ran marathons, were sick, or just missing-in-action. Roger Roger, following his commitment to bring three FNG in a week, brought one of his neighbors who was named Green Hornet. Trying to impress FNG, after the warm-up, we did cumulative beast: starting with hand-release-merkins, then added WWII, squats, 2 count Freddie Mercuries, crab cakes, finishing strong with burpees. Not much time left, so we finished with circle of abbs each calling 20 favorites: heels to heaven, LBCs, mountain climbers, American hammers, WWII. Overall a…

A lucky 13 All Pros worked hard this morning to get ready for the season. With my first bootcamp Q at Gridiron, we stayed on the football fields and did the following: Warmups in the center of the field of SSH, DQ and Imperial Walkers. White Deer complained it was very cookie cutter so… Gathered in one end zone and worked our way to the other to score a TD. Fought through 10 burpees at the 10yd line, 20 Merkins at the 20yd, 30 two count Hammers and the 30, 40 LBCs at 40yd and 50 Smurf Jacks at the…

Pax of 10 this morning for what could have been a Hot Potato but turned out to be a Hot Po-Tater work out. Arms- Started with 3 sets of Jerkins on the Swings, followed by 5 mins of Burpees, Some Dips and Hang-Ups (pull up bars hold fully extended for 3 count, and then pull-up, repeat 3x, with 20 Dips between). Abs- Series of 20 count each of Ab-Ripper X knock offs (Crunchy, Freddy Mercuries, Mercury Freddies, Heels to Heaven, WW IIs, WW Is) with Bear crawls and Crab walks in between. Ended with 50 count American Hammers. Then 7’s…

Probation pulled up as we were circling up for the first COP in the parking lot. We added Homer and Gypsy, having done a pre-run, after the 5 minutes of Burpees and Blue Moon came towards the end to make sure standards were being maintained while he’s recovering from knee surgery. Fireman Ed called the next exercise as he has memorized my routine. (I have certain ‘sets’ I do so I don’t have to carry a weinke around.) For that matter, Whitesnake also predicted the BTTW routine. Mariner dragged the average age down considerably. All in all, a total of…

7 Regulars, 1 Semi-Regular, 1 New Regular and 1 FNG descended upon the sunny confines of northwest Henrico for a summer beatdown. Tater embarked on a new strategy of greeting the FNG with a bro hug. Me thinks they have known each other awhile. Probation, one of our semi-regulars invited him to Gridiron. COP: DQs, CPs, HRMs, FMs and Supermen. Mosey to second field. 11s: HRMs and WWIIs. Partner wheelbarrows, 25 2 count flutters at each side of the field. Mosey to parking lot on way to front of school. 4 corners: 10 burpees, 20 jump squats, 30 2 count…
