Seven of us showed up for today’s workout on this gorgeous Thursday! Here’s how it went: Started with a mosey to the front of Reveille United Methodist Church for our COP (deadmen hang, helicopters, SSH, you know the drill). First challenge: A twist on the classic 11. Ran to the fence for 10 merkins + 1 WWII, then back to the other end for 9 merkins + 2 WWII. Kept going until we hit 1 merkins + 10 WWII! Next stop: Church parking lot for triple check. 12 High impact men emerged from the gloom to see if today is the day for a 45 min continuous COP.  Like Kramer test driving till we ran out of gas we kept at it til we re-discovered why we do more than COP for bootcamp workouts.  We realized it quite well. Nine fantastic gentlemen gathered for the best AO between Commonwealth and Westmoreland. After discussing the surprisingly chilly tempature and debating what Hitch would be wearing when he leapt out of his car at 0530 (answer: tights, shorts, long sleeve shirt, hoodie, neck gaiter, and sub-zero winter gloves), we were off. Nine of the finest gentlemen of the gloom (plus 3 walkers) converged this morning for 45 minutes of Mary’s best beatdown in RVA. After some complaining from Oyster about various subjects, we moseyed out at 0530: Here’s what happened: COP on the blacktop: Deadman hang / helicopters / DQs / Imperial Walkers / Ukranian Soldiers / Copperhead squats / LBCs/ other various stretches! Two young FNGs joined a nine-man PAX of bootcampers and walkers in the warming gloom. Warmarama. Four-corners on the stone dust track. Partner wind sprints on the tennis courts. Seven strong PAX for a beatdown and 4 walkers took off at 5:30 on their various routes. The bootcampers did: COP: Invisible Jumprope, Don Qs, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Donkey Kicks. Mosey to Triple check spot for just that: Carolina Dry Docks, Donkey Kicks, run to fence & back. Then over to field for 11s on the soccer field. Exercises were: HRMs and WWIIs. 9 eager beavers broke from the sack for bowl of hot Gumbo on a surprisingly brisk first morning of Spring. 3 others took to the mean city streets for some miles. Four bedraggled men, dealing with too much pollen and too little sleep, found their way to Mary for a 45 minute beatdown. Four other randos were sauntering around while we four commenced at 0530.
