So this week has been a week of tapering runs for the group with the Monument 10K wrapping up last weekend. YHC thought the reverse Giles loop would help in setting the pace as there are many long hills on this route. We seemed to divide with Marco Polo taking the lead, YHC, Bulkhead and Speakeasy running about an 8:40 min/mi pace and Opus and Mr Holland at about a 9 min/mile. Marco Polo did a Bojangles loop to finish with 5 miles and Remaining runners did 4.2 miles today. We also had the Ruck group with Mudface, No Idea…

5 Davillians arrived at Rutland clubhouse to see what Marco Polo had in mind for a “recovery run” Marco Polo and YHC both signed up for the 10k Challenge for the monument 10k which meant we had to run a 10k twice within a week. YHC got his done last Saturday but Marco Polo ran his on Monday so today was a “recovery” run. Bulkhead and Opus did their own thing since Bulkhead could only run for 30 mins The rest of PAX got in the Rutland/Cool Spring Forest trail loop for 4.25 at 8:30 pace Well I guess that…

4 runner plus 2 ruckers got after it with a little orange moon light on the horizon. Runner got start just after 5:30 with loop around Craney Island to get in around 3.25 to 3.5 Ruckers did their thing early with the 5am start time SPIT ON THAT!!

YHC went out as a lone wolf last Thursday before the half marathon on Saturday. Knowing there would be hills during the race did the Giles hill loop and back for a 5k Great temp = great pace SPIT ON THAT!!

5 Davillians enjoy a warm but windy Thursday morning for a run. Route included Rutland and the Cool Spring West loop to get in 4 miles Great pace put in by all SPIT ON THAT!!

9 Runners/Ruckers got lucky with no rain and temps near 70 for the Thursday Run. YHC told the crew back to a loop we did a few month ago which included the Townhouse next to the YMCA, going behind Kroger then through the main parking lot, a loop around the Rutland Townhouse then down to Rutlandshire with a cut through the trail to our began our normal loop around Rutland/Knollwood. Distances varied from 4 to 4.75 miles Ruckers did their thing getting there early and Rucking where ever SPIT ON THAT!!

5 Davillians braved the rain to enjoy some warmer weather for a run Route included going over the fly over to Giles, down through Giles into Craney Island to back large hill, loop around the other half Craney Island for some more up and down hills before returning to Atlee Station road. Back over the fly over and to the parking lot for 5 miles Got in about 125 ft of total ascent today. Not bad considering the weather SPIT ON THAT!!

YHC had a new 5 mile route planned for today. Rolled into the lot and Yardsale and No Idea started earlier on the Ruck walk both sporting their 40# pack. 3 more posted to run so YHC and Marco Polo ran about a 9 minute/mile pace and Mr Holland and Opus ran about a 9:15/min mile pace. Our route started with the reverse Bo Jangle’s loop over the tracks behind Atlee, Chickohominy Middle and Cool Spring Elementary to Honey Meadows, up the hill by the clubhouse into Taylor farms. Marco Polo and YHC ran on the trail route past the…

We had a couple of brothers show up early for a Ruck walk and 4 of us posted for a run. Marco Polo logged in 5 miles. This one was a mostly down hill route with 2 good sharp hills to climb for a nice run workout. This route was a little over 4 miles for Mr Holland, Spit and Corned Beef. Yard sale and No Idea did a ruck walk and logged in about 3.5 miles. Numberama, Namerama Marco Polo took us out in prayer. Great run gents and I will see you in the gloom, cheers…CB!

YHC had the Q for Tomato run and wanted to review a route that can be confusing for travelers, even the locals may miss a turn or two. We have been having a group of ruck folks show up at 5am so YHC came to a lot with some cars present for this event and they were well into the workout. Mr Holland showed up and we began our run right at 5:30. This route took us through three different communities and was a relatively flat route and we ran about a 9:15 minute mile pace. We returned to the…
