Urban Farmhouse Midlothian

2 runners hit the Southside gloom for some early Sunday CSAUP training.  Normal loop through the Grove, Midlothian Mines and the Village.  Looking forward to the next few months having some other SOJ runners join us to get ready for the CSAUP.  Varying mileage available with excellent fellowship at Urban Farmhouse afterward.  Contact Honeymoon or YHC if you want to join us to make sure Off the Books is on.

3 strong hit the roads around Midlothian for Longhorn’s 365th day straight of running.  A six mile route around the Midlothian Mines and the Village of Midlothian.  The wind was brisk and brutal coming up Woolridge to Midlothian but settled and was at our backs the rest of the way for a total of 6 miles. The big news is that Longhorn, one of the New Market neighbors and Manziel’s wife, has run everyday for 2017.  No small accomplishment since many of us struggled to get in everyday for a month earlier this year.  On top of that as we…

Sunday morning came with a cool morning breeze and a few post holiday miles for YHC.  After coming back from a couple days at the in-laws late Saturday it was good to get out and get a few miles in.   The route was Urban Farmhouse to Tomahawk Creek Middle, aka Timberwolf, and back.  Not quite 6 but neither of us were up for pushing the envelope on speed or distance.  Thanks to Honeymoon for meeting me out there, it was a much appreciated fellowship run and coffeeteria. Upon realizing he’d be a PAX of 1, EF planted the flag. THANG Start at SF Run End at SF Mileage unknown, time 1:25:00ish.  200 Merkins mixed in. Numberama, Nameorama, COT MOLESKIN Per Lab Rat’s advice that the trails would be closed due to Saturday night’s phantom rain, YHC decided to cross 1 of 3 remaining AOs off the list and mosey down to Off The Books instead of the Pump House.  YHC arrived early to secure the AO and patiently waited for the PAX to show.  At 0600, no PAX was apparent.  YHC took off, circling back at 0700…

2 runners for a cold OTB run.  After a couple week hiatus for OTB with various vacations and races YHC and Honeymoon hit the roads for 6 easy miles.  Thoughts of cutting it short were scrapped when we realized if we did the coffeeteria would still be closed.  Route was through downtown Midlothian, through Charter Colony and around the JTCC campus.  Finish just in time to hit the warmth of (Sub)Urban Farmhouse. Good run, good times, have a great day.

Three cup horses declared eligible away from the false energy of the Fartsack and birthed the latest version of the free handicap claiming race that is Off the Books.  At 6, Wilson, Honeymoon, and the shipper that is YHC posted at the Urban Farmhouse (Midlo) gate and, at the sound of the bell, were off. First post after one furlong left into the Woolridge chute, then 9 furlongs to Midlothian Turnpike (left), 9 furlongs to Charter Colony (left), and 8 furlongs to Woolridge (left).  Down the backstretch for 5 furlongs to the Urban Farmhouse and a slow trot for 3…

1 runner posted at OTB to get in a few Sunday morning miles.  After waiting around an extra minute or two hoping for a LIFO YHC hit the streeets around Midlothian.  A short loop was initially planned but an exploration of local neighborhoods pushed the mileage closer to 6. YHC considered not posting a BB but in the end, wanted the Big Data credit.

Two posted at Urban Farmhouse and decided to do the normal loop in reverse.  Somehow there was more uphill to this run that the original way.  Maybe that’s not the case but the hill towards the end was unexpected.  YHC does not remember going down that one on the way out.  Great to run with Honeymoon on the first real run since BRR, felt good to get some miles in.   What’s the next race? Quick coffeeteria after the run before heading out to enjoy a beautiful Sunday.  Off the books is still on for anyone that wants to join…

YHC withdrew himself from the confines of bed for a Sunday stroll. Similar as previous runs – Rosie route  – past the three schools of Midlothian. 5.8 miles total. No chatter this morning, no prayer or F3 as YHC has a date with IKEA in NOVA. See you all in the gloom this week. -Singer

2 strong runners discussed Wilson’s fartsacking tendency on Sundays before heading out for a sunny and 70 run around Midlothian. The run was down Charter Colony to Tomahawk Creek Middle, run around the school to check out the new AO.  Lots to do there, it’ll be a good one.  Back down Charter Colony with an added loop around John Tyler Community College.  Back to Urban Farmhouse with a loop around the parking lot to get to an even 7 miles. Good coffeteria today with Honeymoon.  Looking forward to football season and some oysters this fall.
