30 minute trail run prior to Rock N Roll

Good morning….2 ruckers(Big Rig and myself) got going after Big Rig came back from a pre ruck workout. I thought I was running a little late, turned out I was on time. We took off with weight on the body and the humidity in the air. We hit the usual trail with some good chatter about his brother and adventures out west this year(all the snow created much needed water which is helping but hurting a few minor things). A lot of good topics including ways to try and get better as we get older(work on flexibility and mobility which…

YHC almost didn’t get out of bed this morning due to some knee soreness but I’m glad I did because I would have missed out on the party! A total of 9, that’s right, 9 HIM got up early for some morning wood before the beatdown. 7 Ruckers set out at 6am with the birthday boy leading the pack. After completing our normal loop, we kinda split up due to some guys needing to head out. That’s when Footloose and Mudslide took over and took us back into the woods. Days like today are what I really enjoy about F3.…

2 ruckers(walking around with a weighted pack that can be used to train while wearing or as a tool) plus 5 runners came out this morning to Rockwood Park. Last week we had the lights on from all the baseball fields ready for practice. This week, a little breezy but the temps were mid 60s which made things comfortable. The ruckers(Florence and Footloose) took off at 6am to venture around the park. The runners(Chaplin, Touchdown, Hardywood, Rosie, and myself) took off at 630 around the trail from one side to the other. On days where the paved trail is wet,…

4 runners at 630 took off around Rockwood Park for the weekly Saturday morning run. Conditions were great(a lot warmer, very comfortable) plus it was odd to see all the baseball fields lit up. We later found out today was the first day of practice so we will be seeing them for the rest of the spring and summer. The 4 of us took off, nice pace(House Party and I today were smart and we did not attack the hills). Good move with House Party having the Q today, we did not need to go hard. As we passed about…

2 runners and 2 ruckers decided to hit the wet pavement of the trails of Rock N Roll this morning. Florence and Boberry started on the early bird shift and managed to get in about 3 miles while discussing the Leadership Development Process section of the Q source. While running our normal paved trail, Mudslide had the great idea of pushing it to another gear and hitting the hills extra hard so YHC follow suit. It seemed like a good idea at the time but if we only knew what Florence had in store, maybe we would have taken it…

ÝHC made it out early for a pre ruck run. As I was finishing up 2 cars rode past me 1 of which was Footloose. The gloom was already starting to turn to light. I grabbed my Ruck and dumbbells and we started our trek. Caught up on what had been going on with each other since YHC wasn’t there last week. YHC was a bit overzealous with the weight of the dumbbells and Footloose had to carry one at least half of the time. Footloose said the time change was really making it difficult to schedule interviews at his…

With the ruckers already on the move, Mudslide and YHC took off promptly at 6:30 to hit the trails. At about a minute or so in, here comes DTH sprinting to catch up with us. The weather was great as well as the conversation. Looks like YHC will be joining Mudslide and the crew for Rugged Maniac in April. Prayers for DTH and his family as travel and do great works!

After record temps only a couple days ago, 7 Men decided to come out in 30 degree temps for Morning Wood. 3 ruckers hit the early bird route and 4 runners hit our normal trail. After months of running in darkness and needing a headlamp at some point during the run, today was the first day in a long time that we didn’t need one at all. It was great having that sunlight, especially to protect us from debris on those dark trails. As we were running, I couldn’t help but notice Mudslides bone conduction headphone . I got a…

After a couple days of around 70 degree weather, today brought below freezing temps. I arrived a little early and saw Doublemint, Footloose, and Big Rig rucking. 6:30 hits and here comes Big Rig, after leaving the others to continue rucking, dropping off his ruck and getting ready for the prerun. We hit our normal trail. Mumble chatter included family, work, Duke basketball, and how crazy this weather is. House Party

A total of 7 guys ditched the fartsack to get in a few miles before the beatdown. 3 Ruckers got a 30 min. jump on the runners. Rosie and I took off promptly at 6:30am and missed Shank and Mud Slide by a few seconds. We hit our normal paved trail through the woods and BTTF. Great talking with Rosie this morning about family and our next SOJ meeting. Nice turn out today fellas!
