Browsing: Currahee

8 runners made their way to Curahee with YHC on the Q sheet, everyone seemed slightly amused at thinking how YHC was going to get lost on his own Q. However YHC already planned ahead and had decided to use the Navy’s K.I.S.S. principle, so run up Pump to Ridgefield take a left out and back, turn around at about the 22.5 minute mark. BTTF Numbers / Names Handshake took us out NMS: YHC signed up for the Q thinking that I have done enough Curahee runs that I should have a good idea for a route but the other…

Ten brave soles came out on February morning to brave the elements and run in the dark. We run the Handshake route: up Pump, left keeping on Pump, right on Broad, right on John Rolfe, back to the Flag. There was a discussion at the end on whether purple is appropriate color for shoes. But after the owner explained that purple was $60 cheaper, all agreed that the color is totally appropriate. Congratulations to Doozy on 1000 posts!

I have a new idea, let’s do this route where we get to go up a Raintree hill twice and never go down it. We can also find more hills later as we run around in circles. Sound good? Seven of us followed my dizzying 4 different circles route without error and enjoyed ~4.5-5 miles while Blue Moon continued his comeback routine. There was one error, YHC picking this route. A good group at Dunkin’ followed. Looking forward to Pigskin and Gomer returning from Honduras and hearing about their trip. February has a few different challenging events for this group.…

Nice cold morning to be out on roads working off the holiday fat. We ran the figure 8 route which is oddly named as its really more of a “9” 4.4 miles 8:53 pace, a few ran further and some ran less. All finished with circle of trust and naming our 23 year old FNG who played baseball, Strawberry. Interestingly he was asked his first concert….never been to one. Strawberry stuck. Ha Ha

With nary a virgin street anywhere near Godwin, nine behemoths pounded the same old worn-out pavement. Here’s where they went: The Route Lap around Godwin and take path on left to Maremont L on Raintree R on Ridgefield R on Flintwood R on Falconbridge R on Hickoryridge R on Falconbridge R on Pump R on Ridgefield R on Raintree R on Maremont and finish lap of school to the Shovel Flag Numberama, Nameorama, COT MOLESKIN Like a one-armed kayaker, this boat only went one direction. Nine runners, nine rights. Running sucks. YHC fell in a hole. The end. ANNOUNCEMENTS Purple…

Seven Titans took to the streets in search of rolling hills. Here’s where they went: The Route L on Pump L on Falconbridge L on Raintree R on Ridgefield L on Cox L on Brookmont R on Pump L on John Rolfe L on Glen Eagles L on Old Prescott Back to SF Numberama, Nameorama, COT MOLESKIN With ice in his beard Gypsy posed the question, does anyone have a good idea for a route? YHC responded, I have a route, though I doubt it’s a good idea. Nevertheless it’s what was done. Wally too had an icy beard when…

Welcome to Westhoe Running on Friday. 5.5 Miles and 200+ ft of elevation gain. route posted the night before.. ask the PAX if there are any questions.. typical Gomer response… Pigskin mixed stuff up and went the other way around Godwin on his solo bootcamp.. the rest of us headed north on Pump to Church and cut into Barrington to Three Chop. Then back to the AO. Doozy kept both socks Greenbow set a land record Wally did a ball check on all the PAX during COT. Pinto would rather be skiing Hutton still going strong with showing those sexy…

Nine F3 guys did what nine F3 guys do. They ran, they talked smack, they laughed, they farted, they prayed, they drank… coffee. Here is the run, smack, laugh, fart part: The Route R on Pump L on Sunrise L on Waterford L on Church R on Pump R on John Rolfe L on Glen Eagles (or continue JR to Ridgefield) L on Old Prescott Back to SF Numberama, Nameorama, COT MOLESKIN Quiet-ish chilly morning to run the mean streets of western Henrico. Very difficult to find uncharted territory these days. Lulu tried to give YHC a flat tire twice…

I recall once seeing a high school track athlete’s shirt that said: “Our sport is your sport’s punishment.”  That being said, 8 faithful and strong beat the fart sack this 35 degree morning to come out and pound the undulating pavement of Raintree Drive.  First, we started on Raintree.  Then we went the other way on Raintree.  Then we went back. And then back again.  Once we pounded that damn road into submission we huddled up at Godwin HS for some COT.   Announcements: 2nd F at Innsbrook Firehouse Subs at 12pm on 12/12. Rosie’s 12 DOC at No Toll on 12/19 (only parameter is just don’t…
