Corned Beef and Hash came over to the west side from the wall this morning looking for a Friday run with Gomer Pyle’s help on the route we were able to get in some running for both paces. Light house and Hash ran at a faster pace and logged about 5.5 miles while the remaining pax ran 4.5 miles and as a special bonus (thank you GP) an additional .5 miles around the school to log in about 5 and 6 miles respectively. The 4.5 mile route is below, Hash and Lighthouse ran further down Pump then returned and caught…

Three titans emerged from the gloom to enjoy a moist and cooler morning run though the neighborhoods of the West End. 5.25 mile route through Whittaker Woods, Canterbury and Raintree included our favorite Raintree hill – both a fitness test and a man maker. Fireman Ed had it right: that hill is deceiving (YHC did build it up a bit). Some mumble chatter as we started to run started to fade as the heart rate got up. We talked a lot about the commitment of folks to show up early in the morning and how that mentally blocks perspective FNGs.…

Three of the area’s finest runners, including a visitor, sat in their cars until the rain faded for today’s Currahee. The route was a simple 5 miler with some bro code mixed in. Old glory made an appearance today and it was passed amongst the three of us. One of Henrico’s finest acknowledged the stars and stripes with a flash of the lights while driving past. All in all, a great run with a small group of dedicated individuals. Thanks for making the effort so YHC didn’t have to carry that flag solo. Handshake was clearly steaming when he got…

Last Friday of the month is always a Bro-code run at Currahee. All paces run the same route, but we all finish at the same time. This is due to the circle back for the 6 at each major turn. Some pax will get 4 miles and other will get 5.5, but the over all rule is we always circle back for the 6 along the way and not wait until the finish line. Bro-Code run tends to turn into a COT between like speed running partners and this week was no different. Lots of mumble chatter on the route.…

Currahee!

A group of 7 men gathered for a 4th Friday Bro Code run. Gomer texted earlier this week saying he’d be out of town, so Handshake grabbed the Q. We completed and “out back” run.
