Olympic Trials…

18

COP
42 x SSHs
42 x Don Quixotes
NOTE: 42 is the number of events in the summer Olympics. Note there a couple of new events including 7’s Rugby, a must watch! We should try this for a workout.
21 x LBCs
21 x Flutter Kicks
NOTE: 21 is the number of American athletes who’ve dropped out of the Olypmics due to the Zika virus (this number may not be totally accurate).

Triple-Jump
This may no longer even be an official Olympic track and field event but was a good way to test our skills. On the main field starting at one end, OYO, run two trees, perform a triple-jump (not sure anyone actually performed a true to form triple-jump but it was entertaining nonetheless) then do 10 Merkins and 10 American Hammers, repeat 5 times across the field. We came back across the field doing triple-jumps with 5 burpees and 10 LBCs at each stop. THe Pax (and I definitely) needed a 30 count rest after this.

Relay
We moseyed to the track and formed groups of 5 (thankfully we had a nice easy number of 20). A man at each corner with one starting the relay run to the next station (corner). One corner was pushups, one corner was squats, one corner was burpees, one corner was dips. Each team did 3 laps and there was some good competition between teams with sprints between each station. YHC avoided full sprints as the last time I did that I nearly booted.

We finished strong with a ring of fire with burpees, Merkins and LBCs. See you in the gloom.

Solid Q, Pucker. Way to push us this morning. Good effort by all of the PAX sprinting between stations at the Relay!

Atta baby Pucker – good Q man… Way to push it today fella’s.
Thanks to those pax who took some signs to put out at the AO’s – see me if you need one…
    See y’all in the gloom..

Count me in for Rugby 7s! We’d need to do it at NoToll with their lush grass.

  4. Solid Q Pucker! Way to see all the guys hustle on the sprints. I haven’t seen Fudd or LabRat run that fast in a long time. I would suggest that we find out whatever Oyster is taking. He’s easily the fastest guy out there. Dominate your Thursday gents.

  5. Great Q Pucker. Good job today Hyena – stay with it man…Remember, it is you-against-you, NOT you against Hardywood…who continues to run through these AO’s like a 17 year old who just got let out of class for summer break.

Yes, my triple jumps were remarkably akin to a casual skip.

  6. Great Q Pucker. I really liked the Olympic theme…especially the relays. The humidity was tough this morning too, and I really felt that during the relays. Good efforts all around today.

I’m heading out of town to the beach for the next week, but I look forward to getting back to the gloom upon my return.

  7. I am simply trying to keep up with Oyster. And I can assure you that 17 year old Hardywood could not do these workouts. Yes, Hyena way to absolutely crush it today.

  8. Good Q, Pucker!

I am sure I dont know what the hell I am getting into, but I also would participate in Rugby 7’s….as long as I am on Swirly’s team, as I am sure I have annoyed him in the past and would hate to think he could get even with me legally.

See you at the beach, Kevin Bacon! Look for the shovelflag beachside, that’s my place!

Pucker you can be on my team as a cornerback – do they have those in Rugby Honeydo ? 🙂

  10. Swirly (F3 Corporate) on

Of course you can be on my team labrat – I need you to trash talk the other team and bring your delicious Brown Ale for post game!!

TYA – wide receiver – you see him make that catch during the ultimate Frisbee game – daaaaamn !!!!

  12. Just to be clear, I doubt anybody has issues with Pucker.

Lab Rat on the other hand…Im just going to say that if there was an opportunity to put a shoulder into someone’s chest, I would probably be on several people’s short list!

    PS, I love OLD Toga

  13. I was feeling really crappy before the 530 start but at 615 I was a new and improved man thanks for pushing us Pucker, that’s just what I needed!!!!

7s is mostly sprinting with tackling. I played 2 seasons before I had a clue what was going on, we might need a modified disclaimer if we do it. Chum is a rugger as well so we’ll need him there. And DK married a Brit so he should know how to play.

  15. I’ll start working on a Rugby 7’s workout. It’s a great run just need to mix it up like we did with Ultimate Frisbee a few weeks ago.
