YHC welcomed 20 harriers to Spider Run today to share in some pre BRR tapering. Unlike past YHC run routes, there were no games to be played, no dice to roll, and no chalk markings. Everyone was sad. But do not worry, the games will be back soon. YHC has a propensity for not remembering directions, so YHC had to keep it super simple this morning. The route went like this for 1 milers, 2 milers, 3 milers, 4 milers, 5 milers, and 6 milers, and everything in between. Head out the bat cave, run past the future site of…

Sixteen men on a mission to better themselves huddled around the hood of a blue truck, trying to decipher the pre-posted routes on a 4 inch mobile screen. The PAX was forewarned on Slack of the Qs anticipated hot arrival. YHC arrived with three minutes to spare. Plenty of time to review the routes (twice) before launch. The Route4s, 5s, and 6s all took basically the same route today, with the only variation being the number of Horespen/Ridge Top loops. Head west around the baseball field and left on CollegeRight on Lakewood to WesthamRight on Westham to BaldwinRight on Baldwin…

Nice Tuesday morning for a run. 18 extracted themselves from the fartsack and made it to Spider run. Route was up the hill to three chopt, three chopt to Groooooooove, Grove to oak, Oak to Hillcrest and then back to the start. 4 milers double back at beginning of Oak, 5 milers at the end of Oak, and six milers go all the way. NMM Mileage was a little short today. Change of starting venue takes about a 1/10th of a mile off the routes. Plus, the mileage for this route have always been a little shy of their milestones.…

A Formidable 15 faced elevation and complex geography. This is what transpired, more or less… Run out toward front of Robbins Center onto College Rd. Head upwards and jump on path near UR entrance. Proceed to climb the following as an out an back: Bostwick, Old Mill. 13 studs posted on a temperate Tuesday morning for a run through the Henrico county hills. Route was Mount Henrico. For six miles just a little over six, five milers, about 5.5 and 4 milers, just a few tenths of a mile over NMM A few folks go temporarily lost on the run. Bone Thugs took the right onto Westham Parkway and kept going until he hit Patterson. Once he hit Patterson, he realized he went the wrong way. He turned around and asked for directions back to UR and made it back with a few more miles on his…

15 road warriors showed up for a Sunny and 72 degree run this morning. The route was real simple as I affectionately call this the Pucker route where you run across the Hugenot Bridge and take the curling ramp to Riverside Drive East and run for 22.5 minutes then turn around. This was a great workout for all levels and being more flat than most all other Spider Run routes made for a faster pace for most everyone this morning. A lot of mumble chatter on the ‘Bat Cave’ and it’s origin as some of the runners were not familiar…

19 Warriors emerged from their nice warm beds and ventured onto the University of Richmond for a Tuesday morning run. Weather was as nice as its going to be for this time of year in RVA. The route was one we haven’t done for a couple of years. From the lake run up to the main entrance, take a right onto campus and run up to Three Chopt. Back down to the main entrance, over to Boatright Drive and up to the top of the hill to Three Chopt Again. Repeat this loop as many times as possible. Each segment…
