Three brave runners tested their ambition and pacing with a 23 minutes out, 22 minutes back run into Kings Charter. All three successfully returned in time, though in some cases with slightly less skin than they had when they started. YHC was thinking to himself, in Trent Reznor’s famous words, “I’m gonna run, til I can’t no more.” YHC and Mr. Holland covered 5 miles, and Opus covered 4.8 miles. The runners then circled up with the ruckers, who covered somewhere between 4.5 and 11 bajillion miles. Numbers, names, and Opus took us out, praying for and thinking of Corned…

6 early-rising Davillians enjoyed this spring-like weather the right way. YHC sent out a route the night before. The route was meant to be flexible to make it either a 4-mile loop or a 5-mile out-and-back. YHC underestimated the PAX’s creativity. While YHC and Hash took the advertised 5-mile route, the rest of the PAX improvised. Opus and Mr. Holland found a 4.2-mile route there somewhere, and Corned Beef and Boo Boo did a run/walk for 3.5 miles. Numbers, names, and Mr. Holland took us out. While we missed the ruckers today, it was good to see Boo Boo out…

After a solo run last week (shout out to the ruckers who were there!), YHC was heartened by the strong turnout of runners this week. A PAX of 6 stuck together to the farm house loop in Kings Charter, taking the short way there, and the run walkers completed their loop taking the short way back to the start for about 4, depending on your choice of GPS technology. The runners continued NW to Castlewood, crossed Atlee Station, and ran bac to the start along paths and through neighborhoods on the SW side of Atlee Station Rd for about 4.3…

2 ruckers and a lone runner traversed the friendly environs around AHS. The night before, YHC boldly trumpeted the prediction from his phone’s weather app that any precipitation would hold off until all participants were back home and dry. Potential runners were wise to the folly of this trust and instead chose the certain warmth of the fart sack. YHC covered just under 4.5 miles on a new (to him) route. Apparently, part of YHC’s pre-published route cut through a gated community which YHC probably had previously learned about and then forgotten. Without any PAX members around, only drivers flying…

This is the start of the backblast. Opus, Mr. Holland, and YHC ran a bit more than 4 miles. This is the middle of the backblast. Names, numbers, Opus took us out. This is the end of the backblast.

3 guys including one kotter got together for some hill repeats. We ran the triangle hill in giles multiple times until YHC’s hip decided to not work anymore. Then we stopped.

With the ruckers scared away by the unseasonable warmth, 3 runners looped the Atlee school complex three times, taking a shortcut the last time, to log 4.31 miles. The pace was thankfully fairly moderate. Numbers, names, and Opus took us out. As a reminder, there is a HDHH tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. at the Hanover PBR. Corned Beef is collecting slightly used shoes for donations. The Pax saw many other runners and walkers enjoying the weather. YHC enjoyed discussing the tv and movies he had been watching during his recent down time. There was also thoughtful discussion on Davar Hamlin…

3 runners and 4 ruckers launched from AHS to explore various routes. Corned Beef led the ruckers through Giles for about 3.5 miles. A lot of good conversation was reported. YHC and Mr. Holland did a classic out-and-back-oops-we-forgot-to-turn-better-hurry route into Kings Charter for about 4.8 miles. We clearly were too engrossed in a conversation about video games, surgical procedures, or conducting a choir to remember to navigate. Marco Polo ran something similar, with an added hill, for a bit more than 5 miles. Numbers, names, Yardsale took us out. It was good to see such a strong group after being…

YHC was able to coax his 2.0 to come out and we had 5 total show up for a run. We had 3 ruckers that posted at 5am and they logged in 4.5 miles this morning. Here is what went down for the runners: We leave Atlee High School (AHS) parking lot and run up the hill to the bridge over the tracks then walk down to the level part of Atlee Station Road (ASR) near cool spring Baptist Church. We run around the church and back to the top of the hill at the intersection of Sliding Hill road…

YHC hoped to lead 10 (er 11) little Davillians for a Tuesday morning run or ruck workout. YHC planned intervals on a hilly stretch of road in Honey Meadows to keep the PAX generally together regardless of speed differences. YHC was vague about his intentions for hilly intervals to avoid suppressing turnout. The fartsack’s irresistible gravitational pull captured No Idea, Yardsale, Spit, Hash, and Tonka, assisted in at least some cases by illness or family obligations. And then there were 6. Bulkhead battled through the fartsack and was eventually victorious, but he arrived late to see a PAX already moving…
