You are the light in the darkness

Prayers for those facing Covid and other darkness in their life.

We explored the power of light in the darkness, how God created the light and gave us the Word. He also gave us the power to choose the right path AND also the power to bring our light to others. How can you be a light in the darkness for others?

Genesis 1:1-5 1 In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, ​2the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. ​3Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. ​4And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. ​5God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

John 1:1-8 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ​He was in the beginning with God. ​All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. ​The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. ​There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. ​He came as a witness to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him. ​He himself was not the light, but he came to testify to the light.

Matthew 5:14-16 14 ‘You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. ​16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
