SOJ WINS! …but aren’t we in the City?

Twas a bright and beautiful morning for a Ghost Flag reunion at The FORGE, and two FNG’s joined the throng of fartsack escapees to see what DTH had in store. Here’s how it went down:

The THANG:

Mosey to COP #1:

  • FNG Welcome & Disclaimer
  • SSH’s
  • DQ’s
  • Imperial Squat Walkers
  • Dive-bomber Merkins
  • Breakdancer Merkins (confusing for everyone, even the Q…)
  • Crab Cakes
  • Flutterkicks
  • Heels to Heaven

Mosey to COP #2:

  • Run to the CulDeSac, stopping at each light post to perform x3 merkins (around 15 posts total)
  • Circle up on your six for Guantanamo – Legs Up at 45 degrees, Each man runs circle, forcefully throwing legs down (goal for PAX is to keep feet from hitting the deck, then hold at 6”), then the next man in line is following, hitting legs back up for PAX to hold at 45 degrees. PAX completed x3 rounds!

Mosey to COP #3:

  • Indigenous People’s Run back around the top of the high school to the Amphitheater
  • Triple Check: P1 JackAss Merkins on the Wall, P2 Captain Thors, P3 sets pace with going up/down steps, performing x3 Monkey Humpers at each landing both going up & down (27 MH’s each time) …some of our more studly bro’s box-jumped each step. Booyah!

Mosey to COP #4:

  • Over/Unders down the Field
  • Out of time – Back to the Flags

COT:

  • Counterama #19
  • Namerama (x2 FNG’s)
  • Announcerama (see Comments)
  • YHC took us out in Prayer

NMS:

  • GREAT time this morning guys! It is such a blessings to see so many of my WEAG brothers coming out to F3. Of the 19 who posted this morning, a grand total of EIGHT men from WEAG!!! – well done fellas! In the F3 book “Freed to Lead”, which I recommend all F3 men to read ASAP if not already done, the authors talk about the risk of DRTF (Diminishing Returns of Fellowship) when any given AO grows to beyond 18 men attending, and the importance of “Addition By Division” – splitting the PAX into new AO’s in order to create better fellowship/accountability with smaller groups, and also increase each AO’s drive to headlock more Sad Clowns into attending F3. Well, today was only the 4th meeting of The FORGE, and we surpassed the magic number of 18…no doubt in part due to the magnetic appeal of a Ghost Flag showing…but all the same The FORGE is an awesome AO, and I expect numbers will only continue to grow! That being said, if YOU feel led to plant a new AO, do it! I can attest to the amazing experience of facilitating a new AO – truly there is no more supportive group of men than the RVA PAX!

  1. – WELCOME to HOLY ROLLER (Jamal Jones) and BANNER (Lu Miranda)
    – PuppyPile THIS Sat kicking off at 0705
    – Sunday Crafts Market – Shakedown’s M will be selling her wares (http://www.otrmakersmart.com/)
    – See LABRAT to join him for a month of Paleo style self-assessment in May
    – SOJ wins Ghost Flag!!! (ROSIE will bring GF to Field Day, 5/11/19) …I think redefining our Nano regions may help balance the numbers…PLEASE add your thoughts to this thread.

  2. There is some ambiguity between SOJ and the city proper, where the city exists south of the river. My opinion is that stretch all used to be chesterfield, my kids would have gone to Huguenot but for the annexation, and that is by far the closest AO to my house in bon air. It’s SOJ to me. On that note, I am enjoying the extra 19-15 mins sleep on thursdays. Thank you for that, DTH.

Welcome to the FNGs, way to work out there.

Good Q, nothing wrong with trying some new things, but you could save face if you practice ahead of time without the PAX (labrat) watching. Also I am way too uncoordinated for the imperial walker squats. This ain’t no dance class. 😉

  3. If you live anywhere in the City of Richmond – north or south of the river, or wherever – you are in the Richmond City Proper nano region.

  4. DaVille wasnt going to compete, but we could at least make it interesting. Once I HAVE to PAY a TOLL, it may as well be Petersburg.

Worth the Toll this morning, That AO was unreal. It’s like DaVille in size, but with a smoker of a hill. Nice.

  5. Well done DTH, always good to try new things, always a challenge for the Q and the PAX. Glad a DaVille contingent found their way to the new AO. Almost time for me to make my way back
I plan to keep the Ghost Flag safe until Field Day and then pass it off to Gumbo to bring home as the winning SOJ team captain. Unless of course I decide to steal a Q in the next 2 weeks.

  6. lol, that would be interesting….3 guys, 22 miles each = 66 miles. 7 guys, 9 miles each equals 63 miles.

At least that’s how Splinter told me math works…

  7. Sounds like we may need a re-count. Or, the Governing body (Corporate…Swirly) to make a decision on South of the River City folk. Heck, if you paid a toll to get there this morning, your nano Region should have taken the flag! Kudos to DaVille. Nice Q, DTH. Welcome Holy Roller and Banner. Have a great evening, gents!

  8. Well Well WELL …I suppose that’d put me and Flange and a couple other SOJ’ers into “Richmond City Proper”… gonna have to rethink my ENTIRE LIFE! :-0 …but seriously, have we conducted a census of all the regularly attending F3RVA PAX to get everyone’s addresses into a Google Map and see where the numbers fall?
