What started out as an Awesome Eight evolved into a Fine Nine with Mr Holland LIFO’d in.

Mosey to the Horseshoe for COP.

  • Helicopters
  • Arm Circles
  • Imperial Walkers
  • HRM
  • Freddie Mercuries

Over the the edge of the horseshoe and wheelbarrow across the infield.  5 Derkins and reverse with partner for the return trip.

Triple Check! – Partner 1 high knees around the horseshoe, Partner 2 does Donkey Kicks, Partner 3 does Flutter Kicks.

Over the teacher’s lot adjacent to Lindsay for Lindsays.

  • American Hammers/Copperhead Squats
  • Lunge over, backward lunge back

Back to the playground field where Mr.  Holland mysteriously joined us.  Divide into two teams for some football.

The Moleskin

The combo of HRM and Freddie Mercuries made some nice snow angels.  The snow was like a bean bag providing ample lumbar support during the American Hammers.  We left our mark this morning.

The reflection from the snow provided more than ample light for some football.  The score was somewhat lopsided, but we were making a comeback.

Upon Mr Holland’s arrival at 6:00, he informed us that he had been to Betty Weaver and back this morning.  Looks like there were no fresh tracks in or out of that AO, so he decided to post where there is a guarantee of no cancellation; Hoedown.

Years before there was Hoedown, some of us met up there in late 2015 or early 2016 for a snow workout.  I remember Honeydo, Saab, and TYA were present as well.  Nothing like merkins in the middle of a main road with no traffic in sight.

Snow Days are the best days to post.  Challenges getting to the AO, cold temps, and wet boots only add to the experience and the memories.

  1. Fun morning! Good Q, LJ! Football was fun, wheelbarrows not so much. Nice knees, Honeydo. Have a great and safe day all!

  2. Nice Q today, LJ. Way to keep us going, despite the inclement conditions. Good call with football, especially with the teensiest ball I’ve ever seen.

Scouting notes: Garbage Plate and Offshore have off road foot speed. Handshake goes easy on old men.

  3. So many fun things this morning: the guy watching us pile into the lot looking on wondering who these nut jobs were, football with a mini nerf football, seeing offshore running to the AO. Love getting out in the snow.

  4. That was a lot of fun, guys. I was pleasantly surprised with how many there were this morning. Football was a nice tough.

I’m looking forward to reading Mr. Hollands River Run Q Takeover Backblast.

    Football – damn it I can’r believe I missed out on that…
Great job guys – well done!
    See y’all in the gloom..

  6. Playing in white gloves and bow ties is no joke.

A few Garbage Plates lefts set up Offshore on the reverse. Good play calling…

  7. GP set us up with nasty speed left, then Offshore ran the perfect Naked Bootleg. Well done. Also, wheelbarrows in snow are wrist breakers. Love a snow workout!
