Devil’s Pitchfork – Round 2

6

11 tackled some tough hills as everyone successfully negotiated the Devil’s Pitchfork (5 and 6 mile variants).  This was the first workout that YHC noticed an abundance of early morning light.  No need for those lights anymore.

Devil’s Pitchfork never disappoints the crowd.  Each segment has its own character and personality: Panorama’s gradual incline with a steep ascent, Old Bridge’s sustained slope, or Highland’s vertical beat down.  Ridge also offers a nice climb as well.

Today’s speed demon awards go out to Pucker and Phonics.  Pucker set an early lead for the 5s and Phonics was off to the races.

Pucker took us out.

  • HDHH tomorrow?  Do we have an AO already?
  • C-ville launch kicks off this weekend.  See La Rat for details.

Great job guys .. Glad there was a starbucks on this route – holy _____ I was in serious need of a quick game of kerplunk 🙂
    See y’all in the gloom..

  2. Great work everyone. Strong work by all tackling a long series of nasty hills. Phonics was the man to catch today, an endeavor I eventually gave up on.

I’m beginning to think Lockjaw should go on the list of potential serial killers. Underneath his quiet demeanor lurks a sadistic streak.

  3. I blame his sadism on TYA, or at least our knowledge of his sadism. If it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t have all these great lockjaw running routes.

Great to be back out there slaying the hills around UR. Even better, I can’t wait to try on my new running paraphernalia.

  4. I still think TYA has no regrets for signing me up for three months of running q. The real killer was the back to back speed work and hills. Still sore from Friday.

Overall, sounds like my persona as perceived by the pax is not unlike Honey Do’s. I will take that as a compliment.

Splinter, hopefully your running gear also doubles as reflectors for early morning runs. Safety first.

Swirly, I can only imagine what is in store for us based on your new book. At a minimum, we will get the scientific names for the muscle groups we are crushing in the rusty cage.

  5. Yes! safety first. (We’ll tell Reverend Williams he is with the Seal Team.)

Disappointed in TYA…I was hoping they would have had tassels. This would give Splinter incentive to run even FASTER.

  6. I stand corrected. As TYA just informed me, he does not mess around when it comes to nipple cover purchases.

I look forward to seeing how much “spin” Splinter can generate…(around RAMM please…the Westham HOA may not abide such a display)
