March Madness

1

F3 Hampton Roads had their own version of March Madness with five PAX at #DuckDuckGoose. The workout was bracket themed, old-school style with only 64 teams.

Warmarama:
20 side straddle hops (In cadence (IC)), 20 Don Quixote’s (aka windmills) (IC), 10 merkins (IC). The four-count merkins were much to Priorities’ displeasure.

The Thang:
20 minute run (5 and change laps) with the staple, Bear Crawl Bridge.
Then, it was on to March Madness.
Bracket #1: Run from volleyball court to parking lot completing one set at each end. 64 squats, 32 merkins (march challenge requires these), 16 lunges (complaints abounding from Priorities following his ½ marathon on Sun.), 8 Carolina dry docks, 4 jump squats, 2 1-hand burpees (each hand), 1 full burpee, plank on the 6 at the shovel flags.
Bracket #2 (Mary/abs): 64 little baby crunches (LBCs) (on your own (OYO)), 32 WWII situps (OYO), 16 flutter kicks (IC), 8 Big boy situps (on my count), 4 box cutters (IC), 2 Freddy Mercury’s (IC), 1 minute plank.
Play-by-play: Each Pax had to come up with one exercise themed after the recent events in the NCAA basketball tournament 2017 (Dealer’s choice style). YHC began with Gonzaga/Northwestern goal tending reach troughs (hold plank while reaching underneath opposite arm) (x10 IC). Priorities followed with two-hand block situps in honor of his badgers’ win over #1 seed Villanova (x10 IC). Deflator had everyone complete Upset Sundays (ski abs) (x10 IC). The buzzer sounded before Triple Option or SubMac had their turn to stir the creative juices. We were saved by the buzzer though as Triple Option already planned to push/trip/questionable flagrant 1 a fellow PAX to the wet earth following the example put forth in Seaton Hall’s loss to Arkansas.

Circle of Trust (COT):
It’s not a “what” that is going to make you happy, it’s a “who.” Life is meant to be lived in community, not isolation. We are supposed to have meaningful relationships within our community, our families, and first and foremost with God. That is the order we should pursue. Relationship with God, relationships with family, relationships with community. All the “whats” of this world fall into place if you have these. When Jesus was asked in Matt. 22:36-40, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And He [Jesus] said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
AYE!!!

Moleskin:
The Colonial 70 is happening. The campsite has been booked for Friday night. Individual legs for each PAX to run are being planned. Five PAX have already hard committed (HC’d). Will you be the 6th to round out a complete roster?
