9 SOJers (or SOJers at heart…Handshake) broke the warm hold of the bed and posted to Twin Team this morning for warm bowl of Gumbo…sort of.  This is  how it went: Mosey around the side of BWES (the dark side) to the circle at the end of the bus loop for COP, including: SSHs DQs Helicopters Imperial Walkers Merkins LBCs Freddie Mercuries – alternating speeds The THANG: Triple Check –  classic triple check with merkins (any type you want), flutter kicks and a run around the bus loop. Fun with Door Numbers: 10 doors Round 1 – Monkey Humpers at…

3 able-bodied men arrived at the Twin Team parking lot for a Rosie led partial tour of the AO.  With the other 2 PAX being Radar (FNG from Tuesday) and Doozy, he of only a handful of workouts, YHC took the Q. Warmarama w/ SSH, Helicopters, IW, merkins, LBC Mosey around to the are near the football field for a 6 pack.  1 pullup run to sidewalk 5 WWII – repeato to 5 and 1. Parking lot 4 corners – start w/ 5 burpees, 10 jump squats, 20 merkins, 30 Freddie Mercurys, back to the start for 40 mountain climbers.…

0530 Thursday: Mr. Holland finds himself victim of Lockjaw’s full-on Merkin 5K assault at 45MOM. 2230 Thursday: Mr. Holland checks the Q signup Twin Team is empty. 0530 Friday: Mr. Holland takes charge of the narrative, preventing any excessive merkin activity. Six men fought the fartsack and took a lap at Twin Team. After a stretching-heavy COP (SSH, helicopters, Russian soldiers, cotton pickers), the plan was in 5-minute intervals: Run for five minutes At the timer, complete 10 merkins, 20 mountain climbers, 30 American Hammers Repeat until 0615 PAX ran up Twin Team Hill, through Tarrington, and around James River…

8 strong today to take on Murph Friday Mossy to the main playground. 10 rounds of the below with each round consisting of the following exercises. 10 pullups 20 Merkins 30 squats After we completed the 10 rounds we headed back to the parking lot COT, Name-a-rama, Number-rama Awesome job today and it was great to see 8 strong along with bringing Murph back!  Keep digging on those pull ups as they smoked me today!

Apparently YHC has developed a reputation of sorts. If, come 10pm on a Thursday, the Q sheet has a blank next to Twin Team, Mr. Holland has a tendency to sign up and give his compatriots a beat down they won’t soon forget – that part’s true enough. But just because today (and maybe one of the days last month) that beat down was a Sisyphus sighting, that doesn’t mean it’s always the default setting! Holland takes umbrage with Rosie on this point…though one must admit that today doesn’t provide much ammunition for Holland’s grievance. The plan *was* to be…

6 made it through the storm and could make it out of their neighborhood to post for a cool autumn morning in the gloom of TwinTeam.  It was especially gloomy in the parking lot since none of the lights were on.  The Q had no power and trees down in the neighborhood and asked YHC to take over.  YHC was happy to fill in since I was on standby yesterday but didn’t get the call. 3 ruckers headed out early for some hills with some extra weight.  The remaining 3 did the following: Mosey to the bus loop for a…

A PAX of three* attacked Twin Team Hill with gusto for another episode of The Sisyphus. For a brief few minutes, three was four, but Nature called Doozy away and brought LIFO to new levels…hope you made it back in time! For those not privy to The Sisyphus, here’s what happens: Mosey to the summit of Twin Team, dropping flower pots/cones as place markers along the way. For each round, the PAX runs from the summit, performs the prescribed exercise, then returns to the summit. Repeat for each marker until the bottom. 1: bear crawl back to summit 2: 30…

The title says it all really…Holland, out. (ok fine…) A seven-strong PAX lit up Twin Team this morning with an exploratory worthy of (stolen from?) River Run, with added benefits! It went down like this: The run route went up Twin Team, through Tarrington, eventually back to Bettie (just over 3 miles in all). Meanwhile, the Q had a 5-minute timer going, and each time it ran out, the PAX had 10 burpees, 20 WWIIs, and 30 mountain climbers before continuing on. It took the whole time, and it was decent. YHC continues to experiment with time-based beatdowns,…

YHC arrived obscenely early (5:28) to find a lone Rosie Mobile waiting in the Bettie Weaver lot. On the mark, a PAX of two set off to wage a battle of Mind vs Minutes. The idea is simple: run for five minutes, stop and do things for five minutes, then repeat. Here’s how it went: Mosey up Twin Team Hill (got about 3/4 to summit). Stop for COP: SSH (sideways on hill), DQ, Russian Soldiers, uphill WWIIs, derkins, lunge uphill until time. It was here that Doozy found us and the PAX became three. Mosey back to Bettie’s Bus Loop.…

The morning started with a few question marks…What to do with the beatdown, how many would actually post, would there be any out of town visitors, and how much rain/wind would there be?  The 6 strong that posted had all the answers plus some at the end of the beatdown.  A potential visitor that reached out for a down range beatdown didn’t post but Wedding Singer brought his nephew from Wilmington whose family is sheltering with the Singer’s to ride out the storm. With all 6 ready to go and a few headlamps distributed the PAX headed off together down…
