Brothers! Lug Nut and I need your (yes YOUR) help. In one month, the Richmond Community Toolbank is hosting our annual fundraiser, Hammers & Ales. We need you, your Ms AND your friends to make this the success it deserves to be. Over the next month YHC will be spreading the Hammers & Ales good news to the popped collars of Tuckahoe, to the gluten free hipsters of Richmond Proper, to the Wildlings of DaVille, and to the reddened necks of my native SOJ. Our goal is to get more than 250 people to attend this year, so we need…

Folk, This may be a first for F3 RVA. Grizzly, aka Chuck Friend, pass away on Tuesday after a year long battle with gallbladder cancer. To me, he was a friend, a neighbor, and a protector of this great country. Grizzly posted to grid iron in the early days, along with his neighbor Short Shank (maybe the worst F3 name ever).  He was always in great spirit and maximum effort, even if it was a ground pounding. Grizzly’s obituary reads as follows: FRIEND, Charles Lunsford, 58, lost his battle with gallbladder cancer on October 23, 2018. He was preceded in…

For all of those who are interested and available to go with me, I am planning a trip to Wilmington, NC to assist in hurricane Florence recovery and donate time and goods for the weekend of 10/26-10/28.  Here is the basic plan: Friday 10/26: Load up the trucks and leave Hampton Roads after work (approx. 6pm). Drive to my in-laws’ house in Angier, NC (arrive approx. 9:30pm).  They have plenty of room for anyone that wants to come (they can comfortably house about 15 visitors).  We will spend the night there. Saturday 10/27: Get up early on Saturday morning to…

To all who shall these presents greetings! It is almost that time again!  Hampton Roads is celebrating another year of giving it away.  Our second anniversary convergence will be held at StinkHill on November 3rd at the normal start time of 0700.  Beat down details are still to follow.  There will also be second F and food (yet another F?) afterwards for those who can make it to which families are welcome.  Specifics are still being ironed out.  Look for another pre-blast in the near future for more information. Save the Date!!!! We are only 30 days out! RVA: You…

During my still relatively short time at F3, I have struggled to comprehend why some FNG’s stick it out and some don’t. Often, guys that I feel will certainly stick, are never to be heard from again. EHing guys to give it a try doesn’t seem to be a problem, but getting them back for that second cup of coffee can be difficult. Certainly many of those “one and dones” were fitter than I and struggled far less at their first post. What was different? Why was I one of the fortunate few while others fail to see the blessing…

BRR Overall Another epic year.  I do not know how it is possible, but every year just keeps getting better.  Year 4 was no exception, we keep refining the process and the experience follows.  The theme of this year was “Invitation Only”. As with anything F3, the theme is a combination of a little bit of seriousness and a lot of sarcasm. To accommodate the theme, we jettisoned the yearly t-shirts in lieu of an embroidered race polo and race bag. The race bag ended up being perfect as they kept the size of bags and the amount of packed clothing pretty even…

Four years ago after 3 Pre-Launch workouts, the first F3RVA bootcamp was held on Saturday, September 20 with a PAX of 24.  Click here to view the 9/20/14 Backblast.  Four years later, we celebrate the success of F3RVA with a convergence at Dogpile that will include a bootcamp, a run, and a 2nd F cookout. 4 Year Convergence Schedule of Event for Saturday, September 22, 2018 6 AM – Bootcamp 7:15 AM – VITA Course Run 8 AM – Cookout at Dogwood Dell About the VITA Course RUN 4 lap race around the VITA Course (About 3.6 miles) Participants will…

I’M GETTING MARRIED!!!! Needless to say, I’m pretty excited! In preparation for the wedding, I’m going to be leading The Creek Friday, July 6th. We are making it a family (hence the 4th F) edition. My fiancee and most of the wedding party will be joining us! Invite your wives, kids, and everyone! We’ll begin with a pretty typical F3 warm-up and then transition to playing a F3 modified version of 3 Ball! If you don’t know what 3 Ball is, awesome! Show up and have fun!
